2-0 Mata, good goal. VDB is too good for most of the shite he started with tonight.

Another DCL hat-trick. Delph was also very good. On the flip side, Richarlison and Allan picked up injuries which they don't look like shaking off for Saturday. We march on but at what cost?

So my dad was born in Germany but spent many years of his childhood in Iran. Because of this I’ve always been curious to see the place he grew up.

then I see shit like this and remember that it’s a pretty awful place for a vast amount of people

You probably know this already but your country isn't quite innocent when it comes to why Iran is the way it is today.

I know MLS academies have a long way to go (Orlando's is a joke) but it's pretty cool that three former MLS academy players featured in the German Super Cup.

I was thinking about this on my run today. There's a possible near-future where the USMNT starting line-up involves these clubs:

    ----------- Bremen -------------
    -- Barcelona - Chelsea - Dortmund --
    -------- Leipzig -- Juventus ---------
    Barcelona-Wolfsburg-Nashville-Newcastle
    -------- Manchester City ----------

(Steffen; Dest, JAB, Zimmerman, Yedlin; Adams, McKennie; Konrad, Pulisic, Reyna; Sargeant)

Considering where we've been for most of the last half-decade, that's pretty exciting to see where the youth are currently excelling/beginning to make a name for themselves. Though, Nashville does make me laugh.

I know nothing about Konrad but I'd probably prefer Pulisic out on the left or right and Reyna in the middle. There is a strong possibility that Reyna winds up being a smidge better than Pulisic in a couple of years.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, everything is terrible.

the more things I see about Dembele, the more I think either a fee is about to be agreed or United really are the shambles I think they are

I would be so annoyed if we signed Dembele. Not only is he injury prone as fuck, he clearly doesn’t want to join. It would be Di Maria all over again

Levy done good. Now get me Skriniar.

United must be the worst big team at transfers in Europe.

Got beaten to their CB target, so decide to just not sign one.

Spent all summer chasing one player and bidding hugely under their value, forgetting that tactic will only ever work if the player chooses to push for the move.

Then they end up with two days to go, having signed no one as far as I can tell, trying to sign an injury prone winger who doesn't want to be there.

This is great. Good to see them sticking up for him and walking off.

The annoying thing is that I actually don't even really want Sancho. The money he'd cost is astronomical. I don't get how the board can't see that just having a natural RW, regardless of who it is, will help the team so, so much. It doesn't have to be a marquee player at all - just someone who's natural position is RW.

Talk of Dembele is just chasing a name. Which is typical of United since Ferguson retired.
