I get it. But you are letting them control your emotions. I say "fuck Brand New" but will gladly enjoy any actual release of music or official word. Until then, they are dead to me. Just easier with this band.

 

Yea I see the lp part I'm still skeptical that something changed. But there is time maybe we will get it really late in the year

 

I'm still naively assuming it'll come out before the tour. Or at the very least the single will.
Most likely scenario in my head is a single before the tour, debut one or two new songs and then release the album at some point later in the year. If it's not out by the tour I feel like they've got to acknowledge it during one of the shows.

 

I hope the next single is heavy

The only reason I could think of is maybe they were already on planning announcing the tour. And since it has the album artwork, why not go ahead and give us the artwork and title?

I hope it has something to do with the release of Brand New's new album though.

That's been my hope. Jason doesn't think that's the case, but he has said that there are aspects about this whole release that he's in the dark about just as we are.

 

Maybe so! But in that case, if what that Reddit user said about Jesse claiming that they were just finalising things in the studio...surely by now they've got an album cover - a title at the very least? My head. It hurts.

 

It's coming out on September 9th. I had a dream about it. It was a semi surprise release. I forget how it went down but for some reason my friends and I knew to wait for an announcement on it on September 8th, and they announced it as "Brand New is Rated R" coming September 9th. I then woke up and checked my calendar and saw the 9th was a Friday and immediately knew it was destiny.

Justin Beck from Glassjaw mentioned Brand New in the Going Off Track podcast.

Haha just realized how vague that was. Sorry.

He was asked about the unconventional approach that bands like gj and in take to the business of music. He said that guys in bands are so detached from regular life, that things like deadlines and appointments don't mean much to people in that world. He said the mysterious aspect is not by design.

 

I get this completely.

The information reports have been just a fun way for them to make it seem like everything is following this detailed plan. I think there's definitely a plan, but it follows an über-flexible set of deadlines.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the album has been finished for like a month or two now, and they're just sorting logistics/figuring out the best way to announce it/whether it coincides with a tour announcement or single, blah blahhhh

 

Some days, I feed off of your optimism.

 

I mean somebody here has to put a brave face on it and only cry on the inside. Some days.

 

We need to work out a schedule so there's at least one person in here with a positive face on.
