I am thankful for it because it means there is one I can play haha
and I have been playing it a lot.

I legit can’t think of a favorite track right now. I do love the melodies in Urantia though.

I feel the atmosphere on this album is used in a completely different way than on Gore. Here it feels much more oppressive and claustrophobic, whereas gore was a bit more wide open and lush. I prefer the sound of Ohms in this regard

Took this on a run this evening and its starting to hit a lot more. The dark autumn evening with a slight chill in the air was the perfect setting.

Also, its been said a few times but the sequencing really is perfect, it all flows so well. Pompeji makes such a great centrepiece for the album.

have a new favorite every day, today it’s The Link Is Dead. Chino’s vocal writing on the verses is just so fucking mean

is the chorus the "it's all an illusion" part or the "I'm leaving you tonight" part or the part right after? like I said before: there's just so many hooky parts on that song

that’s what i’m saying! the illusion part is like the first half’s chorus and the other is the second half’s. that’s what I am going with

i love that this record is getting compared to almost every deftones record lol

i said earlier that it was like a split between kny and the s/t but "headless" has real diamond eyes energy

i feel like its only a matter of time before it becomes mine. only one right now that i can definitively put ahead of it is diamond eyes, and KNY is probably on the same level. all the other ones, however, dont touch this for me right now. that's almost definitely because of the honeymoon effect, for sure, but as this thing continues growing and i forge connections with it over the next decade there's a real possibility this becomes my favorite

  15. I really don’t see it topping DE for me, but could see it sitting pretty comfortably in that #2 spot

This is a fantastic stoned listen. The guitar tones and snare sound are unreal.

The verse riff in Error is so fucking good

  18. White Pony will always be 1 for me but this is definitely top 4

could just as easily be what happens to me. hard to say anything definitively about it in any capacity at this stage

Yeah Headless is my favorite, I love the melody in the chorus and the verse riff is so heavy

yesssss. basically every listen I have had had been high as hell lmao the one sober listen I had I still loved it but it def wasn’t hitting quite the same haha. the moodiness and grooviness is just so strong.
the whispery vocal delivery in the verses does so much for me

There are some songs he’s written very well that are best in at the very least, 7-string.

    Great example: Hexagram.

  23. This Link Is Dead's verses are so menacing. I get huge French screamo / post hardcore vibes from Chino's delivery. Yeah that's specific lol

I’m surprised Pitchfork hasn’t reviewed this yet. I know most people here dont like P4 but I enjoy their reviews.

Oh yeah that is weird. Cohen is always referencing them.
