Album is perfect for my morning run, especially right when I start and Genesis kicks in

The guitars on this sound so damn good.

Sometimes I wish some of Chino's vocals had more production on it at times, dubs, modulation, etc. Other than that I am loving this.

This album’s got so much going on under the hood. Just now figured out they repurposed the opening riff of Urantia by playing it in the second half of the verses, it just sounds totally different bc of the rhythmic context

I never want the Radiant City verses to end.

hard for me to imagine someone liking KNY but not liking this. feel like this is the proper follow up to that record...feels way more in line with it than gore did.

Yeah I keep thinking this sounds really akin to stuff like Goon Squad and Romantic Dreams. KNY feels like the best comparison overall to me.

Ceremony sounds to me like what Gore was going for but didn’t quite hit the mark some of the time

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

I absolutely see a KNY-Ohms connection. Which explains why I like the latter so much!

Hot take alert? I like Chino's scream most with the less-is-more approach and both albums do that a lot. Saving the screams for maximum effectiveness.

this sounds a lot more like s/t and snw era to me than either of the last two

I’m not a Deftones fan. And had never actually listened to them except for that ‘Change’ song that was on MTV when I was in high school. But Apple Music suggested I listen to this the other night and I did and I love it and have been listening to it nonstop all weekend.

I’m currently enjoying the fact that Steph got a 9-string guitar and wrote a song like Ohms that can be played entirely on a six-string in standard tuning. Very relatable.

We reach for the longest shadow

Big "Claudio from Coheed using a double neck guitar to strum two chords" energy there.

i mean, just bc a 9 string is in the video doesn't mean he played one on the record. i don't think we know how many songs it pops up on

also, having played a few different extended range guitars, the necks have totally different feels. so it could just be more comfortable for him, even if he's only using it in the standard tuning range

The guitars on ‘Radiant City’ get stuck in my head. Perpetually, constantly, I’m singing that riff to myself.

That bass riff is so good it makes me want to pick my bass back up to learn it, which I haven’t played much since about 2007.
