One of my favorite Tetra bits is to call an actor he clearly knows by the best possible character name to get his point across. Gets me every time

 

I defy anyone to find a worse scene. The only thing I can think of is when a guy gets hit by an icicle and falls off a cliff in The Lovely Bones.

I think I remember Jeff Daniels once lamenting that an entire generation knows him from Dumb and Dumber despite decades of acclaimed dramatic work. To me he was the guy from Dumb and Dumber but also Arachnophobia.

 

I love Dumb and Dumber but Jeff Daniels is why Steve Jobs isn’t perfect. Some of his scenes are good but he’s mostly bad.

Yeah Tetra calling Idris Elba by Stringer Bell when he’s in The Office etc. is such a burn. Think how Idris feels man?

If anything, referring to an actor by their most popular character’s name is how we mostly process them in our heads anyway

 

It reminds me of the old "SNL" sketch where Chris Elliott hosts a movie show and has Jeff Daniels on. Daniels thinks he's gonna talk about his career and new movie. Instead, it's Elliott showing the clip from "Dumb and Dumber" of Daniels shitting his brains out over and over.

Twas a joke

 

Years ago I was bored in a class and changed all the contacts in my phone to fictional characters. Over time I lost touch with a lot of those people, and I did not give new contacts character names, but it still says Gandalf the Grey when my father calls me.

 

I'm sure you mean as a student but I like to think that you meant as a teacher.

 

There is so much wasted time as a teacher. There is a day where we have juniors take the ACT and all other classes are held for four and a half hours. We don't tell the kids to stay home, but it is made clear that there won't be much to do. I bring the Switch and we play Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. A week later we do the same thing with the sophomores and the PSAT. Plus, we take our End-of-Course exam at the very beginning of May but school does not end until the end of May, so I usually force them to watch 90's/early 00's comedies until they make me put on Jumanji or something with Kevin Hart.
