Izzy fight went nearly exactly how I thought, but Jan honestly shocked me. I know the dude hits hard, but damn!

Also, it’s bittersweet seeing a lot of the fans making fun of Diego but then seeing the fighters take up for him. Yes, the dude should have retired years and years ago but give him some respect.

 

I’m grateful Diego at the very least, recognizes this is the last streak of fights and isn’t going to continue after. (I hope)

 

I was hoping Diego would fight Maia in a retirement bout. They’ve talked about it for a while now, but instead they’ve both opted to fight prospects.

Agreed. MW seems like it has no other serious contenders at the moment outside of those two and Till somehow. After a few years of being jammed up at the top, they lost a lot of those top guys to either bad performances, moving weight classes or switching orgs.

Whittaker also seemed like he was a little burnt out at the time of the Izzy fight so I’d like to see him get another shot.

 

100%. If Whittaker and Till win, I wouldn't be surprised if Till got the shot (it would be bs, but i wouldn't be surprised). & if Whittaker and Hermansson win, I wouldn't be surpised if Cannonier still got the shot.

 

I’d love to see Cannonier beat Bobby and get a shot. Really like Jared.

 

He seems like a great dude. I would like to see that as well. What a story that would be of a guy who had a meh record at weight classes way too high and then getting his career on track at Middleweight and getting the title.

The more I see Jones fight, the more I think this also. I just feel like Jon doesn’t get the finish anymore, and even though he’s a genius defensively and has an amazing chin, all it takes is a single shot over the course of three rounds lol

 

I think the only shot Jones has, is if he bulks up to Fedor level, but doesn't get too bulkier than that, as Fedor had the ability to take out bigger guys simply for the fact he was much faster than them. He had such quick speed that you simply didn't see the punch coming, and the punch had more impact than what a 205 guy could give. The bulkier you get, the slower you get, and the more fatigued you get in the later rounds. Will be really interesting to see how Jones moves up to heavyweight

 

Jon's smart enough to not be the aggressor, would Izzy go on the offensive? He won't have a seven inch reach advantage on Jon like he does on the rest of these middleweights. If Jon can takedown DC, he can take down Izzy if it comes to it. I don't think it'd be a blowout, but Jon not being the favorite would be crazy to me.

Probably be a boring decision win for whoever. Lots of staring at each other and potshots from the outside.

Jon and Francis would be bananas. I think he could get him down, but he'd have to survive that bull rush.

He's got two crazy huge fights waiting for him but Dana won't pay him.

That said, if I'm him, I gun for a shot at Stipe first and see how that goes. I'm thinking about JJ matchups a lot recently haha.
