Also have to remember that the score is based on an average of Pitchfork staff’s rating (from my memory) and doesn’t necessarily reflect the authors views.

I love this. It's definitely long but personally I never got bored or anything. So many incredible moments and payoffs, and a lot to dive into. Make Me an Offer, Run Away With Me, Tell Me You Love Me, Landslide, and Goodbye To All That are my highlights after 2 listens,so it'll be interesting to see how/if that changes.

  5. Yeah, I really enjoyed his writing here. Gonna need to see what else he's covered.

  6. This is sick, very relaxing, feels like I'm floating through space while listening to Sufjan lol. Would be good to play video games/smoke/fall asleep too.

This album is really great. Feels like something I'll be getting lost in a lot.

I love "Lamentations" but the melody on "I am the future, define the future … Love me the first time, love me the last time" reminds me so much of another song and I can't place it and it's driving me insane

  9. I agree, his Dylan review from earlier this year was *chef's kiss* and he throws good coverage to a lot of artists I really really like. I'm usually in lockstep with him about records, but while his review is well-written I don't think this one is "a drag" or "exhausting" just because it goes to a lot of places and takes a long time to get there. But whatever and I also read the review half-asleep this a.m. so maybe I'm misinterpreting.

The score is what the score is, it's a different thing and we all know that (I think).

Haha I actually didn't even finish reading this review so I may not agree with it (also haven't listened to the album yet). Was just saying he's typically good!

  11. Anyone who reviewed and gushed about The Chicks' "Home" for their Sunday flashback review feature has an extremely long leash in my book

Pretty sure it’s “Mad World” by Tears for Fears or the Gary Jules version.

    what a waste of wood

The p4k Dylan review is a work of art in itself..

I’m so glad I smoked for the first time in a while just to listen to this album. I’m only halfway through the opening track and my mind is blown.

This is great. Not sure where it's gonna rank for his albums, but I loved it. Quite an experience.

  23. To each their own but "Video Games" is amazing and I think this comment is truly deranged lol

You say you had to turn it off, then describe something that would be amazing.
