For someone who’s not known for pop punk I’d say he definitely pulled this off and had a great mentor doing so.

I also love the tone of his voice.

I feel like you can really feel that this was a passion project for him which adds another layer of enjoyability for me.

Working through this but honestly really enjoying most of it. Forget Me Too is awesome.

Lyrics are whatever but there are some great hooks here.

This is shockingly pretty good. I don’t think it’s amazing by any means, but it’s got some great hooks.

Digging this! Kiss Kiss-Drunk Face-Bloody Valentine-Forget Me Too is a really great run of songs.

A lot of people are calling the title track a highlight, but it might be my least favorite on here.

Gave this a listen, pretty solid. Hooks are good but in verses lyrically and musically it doesn't feel very memorable. Drumming is great obviously. Concert for Aliens didn't have much lasting value

Bloody Valentine is still my favorite here, but this is a fun listen!

I’d be curious just to hear Travis produce Blink these days, after listening to this...

This is really fucking good so far. Super catchy and fun. Also, can we start a petition for a Halsey pop punk album? She sounds so good.

We got a one off emo rock single from her earlier this year. Would love a whole album of it!

The Pete Davidson interlude cracks me up. "We're such losers!"

Definitely one of these best interludes he’s done!

Unsurprisingly from the rest of the internet re: Halsey, Hayley Williams is still the only female voice comp ever

Since when does Hayley Williams sound like a chipmunk?

Not ground breaking but filling my new music void for sure. Been on repeat all day and catchy as hell.

Being from Northeast Ohio, I’ve loathed Machine Gun Kelly as a rapper. But this is surprisingly decent. I don’t mind Barker’s production and they have a good ear for hooks.

Even at its short length, the same subject matter over and over and MGK’s voice get kind of tiring. But some good stuff there.

Fun album, unexpected! Halsey's track is my favorite on first listen.

    Things have changed.

You can sing “Bloody Valentine” over wayyyyy too many of these other songs and have it all mesh. Not enough melodic ideas to go around.

If you take it for what it is, a rapper paying homage to a genre of music he loves, it can be enjoyable. There are very fun and catchy songs (Forget Me Too, Bloody Valentine, Concert for Aliens) and production is top notch but there isn't enough range in the album or even in MGK's voice to make it great. And, from a pop-punk standpoint alone, there are much better records out there, even the ones released this year (one for all, Spanish Love Songs' Brave Faces Everyone). As a mainstream, major league album it could be a gateway for the genre but it's no second coming of Christ.

MY girlfriend had all of his songs on shuffle and my god, his old stuff is unlistenable.

I love this new one and Hotel Diablo. But his 3 albums before that, I can maybe pick out like 4 songs I enjoy.

Which actually makes these last two albums so impressive. Most artists peak with their first couple albums and then go downhill...feels like MGK is doing the opposite.
