Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Tempted to listen, but I hate having the closer out already. Probably going to wait.

Sounds like, in regards to vocals, he's going more Leonard Cohen than Matt Berninger (another one of his apparent "all-time" artists based off of his talks on Secret Voice radio). Either way, I'm liking his willingness to try different things with his vocals.

Edit: Yup, just listened to Chelsea Hotel #2 and then Skyscraper. He went full Cohen.

not really a fan of what he's doing vocally here but julien's part and the overall climax of the song in general are incredible. nick and clayton kill it as per usual

Does the version on soundcloud not have the voicemail? I've listened like four times but don't hear what you guys are talking about

i think i listened on spotify, not soundcloud.

albums about losing parents (see the lack long after) generally wreck me hard so i'm looking forward to seeing what thiis whole thing comes out like

a burst and I'm awake now Supporter

Agreed. I've struggled to listen to most of PBTT's catalogue for that reason, can't get through 'Plum' by Pity Sex, and the few songs released off this album are hitting me hard so I think the whole thing might result in my complete emotional meltdown. Plus everything Jeremy said in that article about starting to think a lot more about the mortality of your loved ones once you approach your late 20s/early 30s is really striking a chord with where I am with my thoughts and fears in life atm.

Up on Apple Music and has the voicemail.

Wonderful song but I wish his harsh vocals weren't so buried at the end

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Shit, this closing track is one of their bests. The climax is everything

  14. oh man didn't realize it was the closer--sounded really good from my distracted listening. think this album's gonna be really special

I feel like an idiot. Since this got announced I thought that Stage Four was referring to the 4th full-length in their discography, which was fine albeit a tad corny. But for some reason just now while listening to a Jimmy Eat World song I realized it's way more likely referring to Jeremy's mom's cancer diagnosis. How that wasn't apparent to me immediately is baffling haha.

Lol didn't when TA announced Stage Four they said it was not only their fourth record but because Jeremy's mom had stage four cancer?

edit: Skyscraper is lovely. This album is going to be very very good. Sad but good.

They probably did, but I didn't really read the announcement or any interviews or anything so I probably just missed it. I still feel like a dork about it.

  25. the guitar tones on this album are so fucking great - it's not your typical hardcore album which ISB probably hinted at but it's fully realized on her - the opening track is so luscious and hints at some pop tones too. fuck man this album....
