Love Brief History of Seven Killings so far. Did not expect the brutality on every page though. It’s going to take me a long time to get through though.

I've been reading a lot of graphic novels and comics this year actually. Got through most of The Walking Dead and catching up on Batman.

Just started the new Riley Sager book today and plan to read several other books from this year after that. Have Megan Goldin's, Meg Gardiner's, Stephen King's and J.D. Barker's all lined up!

Met my 20 books for the year target while I was away this week. Granted, like 4 of them are just those little 50 page penguin classics things, but i figure I've got another 4 months still to top it up with some proper sized books lol

If any of you were a fan of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Susanna Clarke has a new book out called Piranesi. The synopsis seriously sounds cool as hell and I’m beyond excited to have just started it.

Just started Needful Things by Stephen King. Pretty interesting so far not sure what it's really about yet or if it's just going to be about random people coming into the shop.

It sets up a good series of events that I was thrilled reading as it unfolded. Utter chaos.

I picked up I'm Thinking Of Ending Things. Looks like a quick 207 page read - LET'S GO!

Picked up Dune today since I’ve never read it. My best friend got a copy too, so we’re basically reading it together and calling each other to chat about it.

Ugh, love this book so much. It might be in my top 3 for King books. He builds the small town so well with a perfect blend of chaos, violence, and pure bizarreness. I wish I could re-read it again!

On the last chapter of The Cider House Rules by John Irving and man oh man have I loved it. There's something about Irving's novels where you are given the opportunity to really live and dwell with the characters and come to know them as if they were real idiosyncratic people. There's a magic to its realism that I just get totally lost within, so it's gonna be hard leaving Homer Wells and friends behind.

  17. I finally finished The Institute by Stephen King. I really enjoyed it.

weird question but - my friend said he doesn't really read and wanted to change that, and asked for five book recs to get him into reading. got me thinking. what would y'all suggest as a book for someone who's never really read fiction but wants to?

Maybe something shorter so it's less intimidating and they can get through it quicker. YA fiction is normally pretty quick reads. Hard to know what to recommend though since I don't know them.

I mean, what movies or shows does he like? That’s a good starting point to think of the vibe he’d be into. I generally think YA is trash

  22. Yeah what is their likes/dislikes as far as entertainment goes? That’s a good starting point.

Just seems odd to me write off an entire genre as “trash.”
