Troublemaker, Pork & Beans, Thought I Knew, and Angel and the One are all good songs.

 

Red would actually be pretty decent if you swapped the 4 worst songs with the 4 bonus tracks

 

Miss Sweeney is not good

 

Red has some nice highs and some weird-ass lows. I don't really agree that the bonus tracks are that much more interesting or exciting, but a lot of people seem to have that feeling for some reason

 

Yeah I've never understood the love for those songs either. I don't even know which I'd swap for what. Maybe I'd through on Pig or The Spider instead of Cold Dark World? Idk.

 

If I'm just being honest, the best song on Black other than High As A Kite is I'm Just Being Honest.

 

Loved the Red Album when I was young. Still love the first half. I don't really think The Angel and the One is that great

 

Yeah, the highs on the Red Album are high but the lows are some of their worst. Never really got the love for the bonus tracks either. "Angel and the One" is fine. Might tie with Hurley for my least favorite Weezer album overall

 

My hottest Weezer take is that I hardly like Green. The first 4 songs are pretty good but I never need to hear the others

I don’t expect Weezer fans to ever agree or appreciate their entire catalog, but I don’t know what to do, on an emotional or spiritual level, when I read negative words about ‘Miss Sweeney.’

 

I’m trying to finish up my Weezer collection on vinyl and I can’t seem to find Raditude or Maladroit. Currently have:

Blue
Pinkerton
Green
Red
White
Teal

 

It is wild that Green was ever panned

 

I mean I like Green, but I get it as the follow up to Blue/Pink.

Yeah it's a really good album but as the comeback from "breaking up" after two incredible records it's reasonable to call it a disappointment given the mix, songwriting in general/songwriting formula, and lack of real guitar solos (and synth, harmonica, acoustic guitar...). It's a clear step down from virtually everything that preceded it including the should-have-been-album-3 stuff like Rivers Cuomo Band/Homie and summer songs 2k.

Here for Red bonus tracks, at least in part. The Miss Sweeney chorus is the single best 'let's relive blue' they ever did and the Pig demo is awesome.

 

"Miss Sweeney" is so good. I despise "Troublemaker" and "Everybody Get Dangerous" deeply

 

One of my HOTTEST Weezer takes is that “King” is one of my all-time favorite Weezer songs.
