it was meh. musically wasn't bad but didn't like the vocals.

jank is a silly band but they make catchy fun songs and they're good people that have been doing really cool things for the philly DIY community for a long time so i'm happy they're blowing up even if their internet presence is a meme

 

I think this is an unpopular opinion by nature because her music still isn't very well known - Kaki King is the best guitarist releasing albums right now.

Get with it.

 

I mean. You can make arguments for all of them. And Page probably. Don't agree tho

 

Fripp especially I believe is a better player and defies more convention than most players in any era I can think of

 

Personally, I'd throw Asheton in there too but I don't expect anyone to agree with that.

 

The b-sides from that album are also really great there's a lot of material to chew on from that era

I don't love it, but I definitely like it and think it gets shit on too much.

And what a valiant effort it was! Think I need to be in a different mood for it.

 

arcade fire are washed

 

i like arcade fire. i'd like to see them live at least once.

 

They're great live. But they have a pattern going where they alternate between releasing a great album and a mediocre one. So I won't say they are washed until they break that pattern (next one should be great).

 

win butler is a hack

 

Funeral and Neon Bible are great but like the Flaming Lips they went from being a great band to being a gimmick

 

You're not. I enjoy most of arcade fire's discog

I'm a bit confused by this post

 

Think I'd still put Clapton (and I'm not as big into Clapton as others are) ahead of Jerry for that time frame. Cream at their peak, Blind Faith, an underrated (my opinion) debut solo album, capped off with Derek & The Dominos. Not to mention his lead playing on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Guess it comes down to your tastes though.

 

Also if we're talking strictly "better" playing, Joe Pass belongs in the convo imo, but I might be the only one.
