honestly don't remember this one lol. oughta listen again tbh. definitely don't think there's anything outright bad on things, just some stuff that plods a bit. honestly impressed how well all their stuff holds up

Keepsake has that Anthony Green (barely) feature though.

  6. Keepsake has one of my top moments on the album too with that bridge, or whatever you’d call that elongated section after the second verse

B&C honestly always nailed the opener and closer tbh. Void, Defeat the Low, Parachutes, Enemy, Midnight Zone, and Loam.

  8. True facts. Loam is on it’s own level honestly, I think that’s my favorite from LWM by now

Definitely up there. I wish Jon's solo ventures veered more towards this song. The "and I feel like I can never get away" part is so catchy, and utilizes the autotune I know he likes, but it's waaaaay overdone on the Coward stuff and his solo stuff.

Yeah I would put on Loam months after the album came out every week.

Midnight zone is my fav. Wish Jon used that upper register more

Fame is tied as best song on LWM with Postcard, which was severely under appreciated and ahead of its time

  13. Postcard live is super locked in too, brings a whole new life to the song

Seeing them play it was what sold me on it tbh. I feel like they had a reputation as a bad live band for a while but they were great towards the end there

  15. Yeah, I think the LWM material was way easier on Jon’s voice from night to night so he was able to perform better across the board. Dropping him from guitar helped a lot too, I don’t think they ever really figured out how to make 3 guitars sound very good live with the heavier stuff

It's been said in here, but I think that came from them having odd setlist choices when they opened for bigger bands like ManOrch, Circa, and Coheed. They always just played their slower, moodier stuff, which when paired with a crowd not there to see them, made for a pretty dead feeling set.

  17. Honestly I think my favorite time seeing them was on that ManOrch tour. It was the first time I’d seen them that they actually sounded pretty tight. I went with a friend who hadn’t listened to them a lot and he walked away a huge fan

Only had the opportunity to see B&C once soon after the release of Separation. Really wish I got to see them play their newer material.

I only saw them on the PBC/Fireworks tour and their farewell tour. I enjoyed them both times

Also I think the main problem with the production on Things is that it’s a bit loud? Other than that I think it sounds better than Separation, which sounds like it was recorded underwater

at one point in time they were my most seen band. Saw that PBC/MDAM/FW/B&C show, opened for Coheed, opened for Manchester, opened for Circa (twice I think), co-headline with Title Fight... maybe others, not sure.

I don't mind the sound of TTWTWM at all. May be a bit hot at times, but sounds great in the car.

  23. Sounds like a flat wall of sound and removes any dynamics from the songs that aren’t just “loud” and “less loud” to me. Moments that should be impactful wind up hitting only as hard as the moments that built up to them

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

man, I miss this band so much, they're probably my fav band in general. Insanely grateful I got to see them the 5-6 times I did. Thinking I'm gonna have to give their final show recording a watch this weekend.

I agree. It's hard for me to say who exactly is my favorite band, but they're in the conversation. I play guitar, and their style has been more influential on how I like to play and write, and what tones I like, more than any other band.
