Ah, looks like the update turned Background App Refresh on for every single app on my phone. Guessing that's playing a huge part in the battery issues.

  2. My log weight shortcut is hilariously over engineered because I have it look at what the weight is and give me messages based on what the weight is. (A random list of positive feedback to pick from if within the right range, and mocking messages if it's not. :crylaugh:)

    Step One

You can ignore the extra stuff in the alert. That's just grabbing what my last 4 weigh ins were for reference and then the aforementioned message.

Next post will be Food shortcut.

  3. I'm not sure how Lose It works, or what they have built in. It looks like they have similar triggers. but you should probably be able to put something similar to this together. I don't know the sections or anything of the app, so you could maybe even simplify it.

I just have a menu for where I want to log something. And then if I hit that time it jumps me specifically into that part of the app (Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks). And then for a few specific categories I have common foods in a second menu, for example: I drink the exact same coffee every single day, so I can hit breakfast -> coffee, and it'll log my coffee in the app (I have a secondary shortcut it calls that I created using the app itself's built in Siri shortcut function) and the caffeine intake in the health app.

Here's some screen shots, may help:

The next big trick i'm gonna add to that workflow is giving lunch the option of new food or leftovers and if leftovers, duplicate yesterday's dinner and paste it into lunch.

  6. Other random thoughts:
    • Making Spark the default mail app was cool.
    • Went triple back tap for the Shazam shortcut, double tap for shake to undo. I've never gotten in the habit of the three finger tap or whatever it is for redo.

Another new issue I've noticed: - All of my workout maps are gone from the Fitness app. I went back to workouts from earlier in the year that I know had a map at one point, and they are all gone.

    Anyone else?

Yeah it’s killing my battery too. I’ve been on flights all morning and had my phone in airplane mode and it still dropped 20% with zero usage

I went through the list here: 9 iOS 14 Settings You Should Turn off Right Now | GeeksModo
and turned a bunch of stuff off. I'm thinking background app refresh was the main culprit for me since the update turned it on for every app. I'm charging now so haven't seen if it's helped my battery drainage yet.

So glad they made the search in Apple Music more detailed/sophistocated in iOS14, a much-needed update

the app is a bit laggy but yeah it looks so much nicer

  12. What a nightmare. It didn’t seem to do that for me but there were so many apps installed since the last time I audited that section. Is it wrong I wish there’d be a pop up for that when launching an app, too? There’s already like 3 when launching an app for the first time.

Haven’t been able to really dive in to iOS 14 with third party widgets yet, because of being busy, but I might as well call out sick tomorrow cause I won’t be getting work done.

I recommend everyone make a widget with Apollo that takes posts from r/LookAtMyDog

Anyone having trouble downloading apps from the App Store with the new update? When I go to click to download one, it just spins and spins. Sometimes it will ask for my Apple ID but never does anything. I’ve tried logging out and back

Had this issue last night, but it since resolved itself this morning. No effort by me to fix it, either. Just worked (again).

This is what I have settled on based on my usage. Basically two pages, with my most used apps on the first page, and the data I want to see in widgets. My Fitness widgets is a custom stack with Fitness, a shortcut to log weight, and a shortcut to log my blood pressure. The Reminders widget is a custom stack with Reminders, Notes, and Calendar. Both are set to Smart Rotate. Second page is just a few apps I use regularly, but not frequently and a couple useful widgets.

Anyone having Apple Music issues on your computer? My iCloud Music Library is all greyed out and won't connect. Everything is working fine on my phone, and I can search albums on Apple Music and play them there. Just won't let me add music to my library on my laptop or play anything that isn't downloaded on the computer.

this happens to me usually once a week. usually closing the app entirely and reopening fixes it

Came here to see if anyone else was having this issue. I have both Windows and macOS laptops that are having this issue. I've closed them out, ran updates, restarted my computer, etc. Like you, the iOS version is working fine.
