My aunt got me Soul Reaver 2 because it reminded her of my Yugioh cards, I'd never heard of the game at the time but man was that a sick blind buy. I loved it.

 

from what I read that series and specifically SR2 are really fucking great story wise

 

I think "not understanding that the Wii U was an entirely new console" was a major reason why the sales never picked up during its life cycle. Simply calling it "Wii 2" would have helped it out tremendously. It's not like it wasn't worth the price it cost or that it didn't have good games in those first couple years. Casual consumers who already owned a Wii likely thought they didn't need the weird new tablet controller for a system they were already happy with. And that casual market was a huge part of the Wii's success. So without them coming along, the system flopped.

Naming conventions are important.

 

They are, their importance is nevertheless being exaggerated. Xbox 360, Xbox One and 3DS weren’t self explanatory names either, and those machines didn’t suffer because of it.

Agreed. The look, name, feel, and especially the og start-up of the PS1 all had kid me sold. I’ve never switched since. I did own a Wii once but sold it a year later.
