Isn't that what the wonder years and MCS did for each other's songs on their tour split?

I honestly have no idea. Haha Never listened to either band, outside of when I listened to MCS after I finished my Floating Down the River cover.

I'M SORRY! I WAS RESPONDING TO THE POSTS ABOVE ME!

Also, I'm so used to being broken by Brand New that I lash out outside of the Brand New bubble.

  13. New song is great but it could have been about a minute shorter. I wonder how this song will play out in the album because it kind of drags at the end out of context.

Out of context, all I know is I'm way more interested in the song that comes after, because of the orchestral bit at the very end. Sounds kind of like it could be part of a movie soundtrack.

Not feeling "The Hurt is Gone" in the slightest. Echoing the comments about the utter lack of sonic heightening, doesn't justify the length even a little bit.

I really want to like the last album by these guys. Hopefully these two tracks' placement within the rest of the album will win me.

Yeah, I'm not really feeling The Hurt Is Gone. I've only heard the shortened version from Spotify but I doubt hearing the long version is going to change my mind.

I love this song on first listen and I can tell it'll grow on me. Honestly don't feel it drags at all.

I think we're in for another round of people writing off the album because of the pre-release tracks, and I am not psyched about it.

I think so far this has at least been marginally better received than LaS. But yeah, I have a feeling this album is going to disappoint a lot of people. For me, there's a good chance it knocks off 1975 for my AOTY.

  21. pre-release tracks are supposed to be hype for the album. if the pre-release songs are disliked by someone, the hype will die down for them, obviously. that's just the way it is, unfortunately.

personally, i generally think it's better to ignore pre-release tracks and ignore reading other peoples opinions of an album that you're highly anticipating.

I had hoped the band wouldn't release another track, for fear of it becoming a repeat of Lift a Sail.

I mean, these songs are better than the pre-release tracks for Lift a Sail, so I agree there. I've obviously been pretty loud about my love for "Rest in Peace," which is a song I'm pretty baffled about any Yellowcard fan not liking. I understand not liking this one a bit more, if only because of the length, but there's still a sense of "this band can't make good music without LP" going on, which is extremely strange to me.

It won't be my album of the year, but it's one of my two most anticipated for the rest of the year.

It's kinda weird that they aren't pushing this song at all. Maybe it's not truly the next official single? They haven't posted anything about it on Facebook and all they said on Twitter was that 'you may get a new track if you preorder on iTunes'.

Haha, yeah, the continued LP comments are weird. Like, I don't think you miss LP, I think you just find their stylistic shift boring.

Anyway, I like this new song more than Rest in Peace, but both are great.
