It’s sad Microsoft won’t see true next gen gaming for at least a year or 2. when Sony will give us next gen gaming right away

How??? Non of the games coming out at launch for the series x are true next gen games when they are also all coming out on gamepass and the one s/x line. Ps5 launch games are all built with only the ps5 in mind outside of bugsnax which is also coming on on ps4

I’ll take spider man miles morale ratchet and clank, dark souls remake/remaster and whatever else Sony is launching with the ps5 over anything Microsoft showed off

Lol none of us are going to see true next gen gaming, at least not for a while. Third party devs make their games for the lowest common denominator in terms of power, so if Microsoft is mandating that everything that releases on Series X also runs in Series S, that means everything that releases on PS5 will also have to be able to run on Series S. They’re not going to waste resources to make two different versions of each game. We’re all going to be shackled to the Series S whether we buy a Series X or not.

No we won’t not with first party ps5 games which is what people want anyways and what’s gonna sell the console. Plus anyone who has a decent gaming pc will just get gamepass and say fuck buying the series s/x. Plus 3rd party games will still be optimized for series x/ps5

And just look at the reveal trailer for cod Cold War and how amazing that looked. It was captured on a ps5 so saying everything is tied to the series s isn’t true. The game will not look that gorgeous on a series s

Price is good for conscious consumers who are currently living in a pandemic. Downfall is the storage which I think they are hoping it's just a Games Pass machine more than anything. If I ever got one, that's what it would be for.

Still anticipating $499/549 for price for PS5 and $499 for Series X.

The PS5 and Xbox Series S/X are both launching with next gen games. I don’t see how one is beating the other in a race to delivering next gen.

But the s/x games are all built with the one x and s in mind for first party games. All first party ps5 launch games only have the ps5 to worry about and all looked way better then anything Microsoft showed off. They both might be launching with next gen games but the ps5 launch games will all look and feel better then series x/s launch games since they where built with the one s/x in mind

I have game pass ultimate so I’ll get everything on my pc anyways and have those Xbox games run way better then they would on a series x/s

I haven’t seen any gameplay on the PS5 that convinces me it will look or run better than stuff on Series X.

Lol seriously? Spider man miles morale ratchet and clank and horizon 2 shitted all over everything that was shown off at the Microsoft reveal. Even gran turismo 7 looked better then forza. And I watched everything in 4k

that ratchet and clank trailer says otherwise. that was, technically, truly impressive.

that said my most anticipated next gen game is The Medium lol

It’s not purely about whether games will look better or not, it’s about delivering truly next-gen *experiences*. Experiences that weren’t possible on PS4 or Xbox One. Experiences like what Ratchet and Clank is doing with its instant loading of new areas. Third party devs have to make sure that whatever they make for PS5/Series X also runs on Series S, and since Series S is severely underpowered compared to PS5/Series X, that means we probably won’t be seeing any truly next-gen feeling experiences from third-parties any time soon. The Series S will hold everything back that doesn’t come from Sony directly.

The call of duty Cold War reveal trailer begs to differ with you and that statement. It was captured using a ps5 and it won’t look anywhere near as good as it dose on ps5 on the series s

    Play the Yakuza series

tbh I probably won't get a new console until a year or two after. PS5 has a few games sure, but it's still not enough to convince me to go buy a ~£500 console.

Plus every single next gen series x game that was shown off a month ago or whenever their showcase was is coming to pc with gamepass and will instantly look and play better then they would on a series s/x. But like I said even with the series s I still think 3rd party games are being made for the ps5 and series x in mind and will be highly optimized for them.

It’s not and the Cold War trailer was using everything the ps5 has in it. Even the gamescom trailer was captured on a ps5. So saying the series s is holding back third party games isn’t accurate if you go based off what was show with Cold War

You’ll get true next gen gaming with first party ps5 launch games. You won’t get the full effect with series x/s games as they where all built with a pc Xbox one s/x and series s/x all in mind. It will still be next gen on the series x/s but won’t compare to what you’ll be getting on the ps5 with their first party games. Not to mention there’s stuff coming out launch for ps5 that’s not even announced yet. Also they might surprise us and launch gran turismo 7 as a launch title. And people seem to forget horizon 2 is coming sometime next year. I’m hoping early but I’m expecting fall/winter launch for that.
