Yeah I'm not sure exactly what we should be using to gauge the success of these songs, but Basket Case didn't even chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
ATST peaked at #6, and Boulevard of Broken Dreams hit #2.
Sugar We're Going Down peaked at #8 and went 4x platinum. Dance Dance peaked at #9 and went 3x platinum.
I'd say those are the biggest 4.

Good Riddance never charted on the Hot 100 either, and apparently only went Gold? But 100 years from now that'll still be sung at graduations. So I have no idea how to gauge these things lol

Basket case and dookie as a whole is attributed to "killing" grunge

  3. So weird to me that ATST was bigger than WMAA. I’d have guessed WMAA was the bigger song if they didn’t play ATST so late in the set all the time.

GREEN DUDES BEST GREEN DAY PODCAST Prestigious

Even though Green Day is a "pop punk" band, I wouldn't consider Good Riddance or Boulevard pop punk songs. And with those two out of contention I'd say All The Small Things is easily the biggest pop punk song ever. I mean it was fucking EVERYWHERE. I loved it before I even knew who it was by. And it's also still in heavy rotation on a lot of rock stations and sporting events.

I’d also like to submit Blitzkrieg Bop for consideration. Much different era than the others mentioned earlier in the thread, but it is the only song I can think of that is arguably more famous than Basket Case, ATST or The Middle.

If were just talking 90s-2000s, I’d go with ATST just because it hit right at the perfect time with TRL at its peak and the music video was poking fun at every other video that was a huge hit at the time.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It makes me happy that great athletes have to hear Blitzkrieg Bop regularly.

Good Riddance is bigger, but I don't consider it a pop-punk song, therefore All the Small Things wins. I know plenty of people who don't know Ocean Avenue/In Too Deep, but can recite ATST off by heart.

WMAA is actually my preferred of the 2, but the music video for ATST-the best!

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous charted at #20. However, The Anthem is the one that ended up going Gold. Perfect by Simple Plan reached #24.

All The Small Things and Basket Case each have 464M plays on Spotify, about 100M more than The Middle, Sugar, We’re Going Down, a few Offpsring hits, Gives You Hell, and Good Riddance.

I think ATST gets the edge if only because it’s used as a cultural punchline more often. Basket Case is a really popular good song, but ATST is like a funny novelty song people who dont listen to music know from jokes

Well of course a Blink thread would determine a Blink song to be the most famous pop punk song (it’d be in the conversation for sure).

Seriously, how is it that like just every Blink album I listen to now becomes my favorite in that moment?! Basically it's seeming impossible to rank them anymore!

Yesterday, was Neighborhoods, today is Dogs Eating Dogs (and Neighborhoods again). Few days ago was Chesire, and few before that was California, then Nine, and then back to the tie between Enema and Untitled. And while TOYPAJ has gotten some recent criticism from me (in my mind, if not expressed here), it's growing on me and I mean, was such an important part of my Blink story! Plus those bonus tracks-heck yea!

Also, Buddha-cuz songs like Tv and Time...but since a lot of the others are repeated on other albums, this has to be lower tier. So like, its just so damn hard! It's like this right now

    Most of the albums here,
    TOYPAJ and Buddha

But like even that doesn't seem fair! Lol

    Neither does this tho!

    All albums except
    Buddha

I mean, it's just too hard! Lol

Man, I just do not like Nine at all. I'm not anti-Matt either - California had a number of really good songs. I just don't get anything out of Nine - it just reminds me of an Imagine Dragons record: way too smooth and over-produced.

I personally can’t name too many bands that have put out something as good as Nine 20 years past the peak of their popularity. Is it perfect? Not really. But there’s enough material on the album for me to return to which is more than I can say for 95% of the bands I listened to when I was 13.

The songs just feel joyless and samey to me. The choruses don't feel like Blink as far as vocal melodies go - that's the part that reminds me of crap I hear in the gym basically. Songs like "Black Rain" are just bland - It doesn't have to be happy and jokey, but it should at least be catchy.

If people like it great, but I'll never not say it's the worst Blink album.

Man I love Black Rain haha

My biggest complaint about Nine is probably the electronica feel to it at times. I wanted them to bring some of that +44 sound but sometimes it was too much. Even Travis' drums sound like they're not actually being played by Travis on a set in the studio at times. But I was an Alk3 fan before I really got into Blink so the Matt influences being felt more on Nine were great for me.
