  1. It’s a great fight. Maia is still extremely dangerous and one of the few guys in that division that can really test him from underneath while he’s in a dominant position.

  2. HES FIGHTING TWICE AGAIN? LETS GOOO

I love Maia in that fight too. The great thing is that being a BJJ elite specialist, he can actually be competitive this late in his career. It’ll be a great retirement fight for him, win or lose.

If Chimaev gets through this next two, it will be legendary. Haha.

2 fights scrapped today by Covid. Only 7 fights tonight. Can't even remember a fight card with that many fights in the modern era.

Seems like covid is running wild at the apex center at this point.

I like that Reem seems content with his career and is open about this being his last run. A shame he never was able to grab the Heavyweight title in the UFC, but his career is one of few that spanned multiple promotions and martial arts that I am happy he’s not forcing it after this contract. It will be sad to see him go since he’s been such a legend and also one of the first fighters I began to recognize and watch regularly when I was younger.

It would be interesting if he were to win these next few and nab a final title shot as his last fight, but I’m not holding my breath. Not to mention his fight with Stipe (the last time he fought for a title) was a really bizarre round where he almost looked lost in there.

Ubereem would have been the UFC champ in the late 00's/early 10's and no one can convince me otherwise.

He defintely would have if he made the jumps year or two earlier even if only for a short period of time. HW was so shallow that over the hill Couture and Lesnar were champs so that's not saying much.

He has beat some of the greats but also got KO'd by some fighters you'd think destroy like Travis Browne, Rothwell and Antonio Silva.

Can't see Overeem getting a title shot sadly. He was beat badly by Blaydes, Francis, and Stipe in addition to that fluky KO by Rozenstruik. He would need to win 4 more fights and beat people who he already lost to.

  12. Overeem would need about 2-3 more wins with a win tonight.
He’s unfortunately at that point where he’s being used as a gatekeeper (he’s also extremely active) to push lesser contenders up with a marquee name. It’s up to him to avoid that being the case.

With all the negative I just spewed, I see him easily beating Sakai tonight lol. Sakai is way overrated in my opinion.

This is SUCH a good card despite losing a few matches. Pereira really impressed me tonight despite me not being a fan of his showboating in his fights prior to this in the UFC. Still a little flashy and wild, but he’s fast and was much more accurate when he wasn’t trying to land a rolling thunder kick or flying knees. And that revenge slap was excellent.

I did NOT expect Ovince to drop Menifield like that. Almost made it look easy.

  17. Reem took him to deep waters and fucked him up.

That takedown seemed to be there the entire fight.

Sakai though showed great endurance and physicality; hopefully for his next fight he gets even more toned, and works on his takedown defense

That fight was way better than I expected. Good win for Overeem. I'd like to see a rematch between him and Rosenstruick next since he was winning that first fight before getting wrecked.

  20. Reem is in a terrible spot in the rankings. He’s lost to everyone above him.

I doubt it would happen but I’d like to see Overeem welcome Jones to heavyweight.

I hate watching Reem cover up and step back like that. Terrifying to watch repeatedly. Especially in a heavyweight fight. But he endured and got the job done. Super happy for him.

  22. His chin has seemingly become un-shot the last 2 fights lol. Harris hit him with some lights out stuff and Sakai’s flurries would’ve put him out about 4 fights ago

Who would be a good comeback fight for Nick? The first person that comes to mind is Cerrone.

I suppose Lawler would be good too

  25. Chiesa would be a decent test to see where he’s at
