Yeah I just remember that feeling of, like, “Art can be this big?!? Songs can be like movies?!?” and immediately grabbing my notebook

We always did an end-of-the-year pop concert in my choir program, where we'd have like a full band and you got to pick your song. I did "Thunder Road" and it felt so fitting for that last performance.

I performed it solo acoustic at some shows at some times where I really needed to inhabit that song for a few minutes. Hopefully it didn’t suck.

Announcement coming next week? I know I’m sharing something from another forum, so take it as you will, but they seem to be a bit more in the know here.

    New Album Rumor Thread?

i could have sworn Western Stars was 2018 - can't believe we've only had that for a year.

Hmm, I was expecting this to be an E Street album along the lines of Magic. I'm not sure why but the title and cover makes me think the opposite. Then again, it's not like Magic immediately screamed political E Street Band record, either.

    Yessss

  15. Very nice of Bruce to release his album on my dad's birthday.

  16. Let's gooooooooooo

  17. If that's the album cover it actually resembles Magic a fair amount haha.

Also worth noting I think E Street Band is only ever in the artist title for live releases

Yeah I think I should give up on seeing Bruce's album covers as a sign of, well, anything ha. This one makes it look like a christmas album! But everything I'm reading suggests this is indeed the first E Street album since Magic. The roll he's been on the last couple of years makes me think this is going to be something special.

His album cover track record lately...not great.

  23. Wasn't Working on a Dream a full band album. Also Wrecking Ball (mostly)?

I like the Western Stars art, but the style of that one is definitely an anomaly for him. I might like the back cover even more than the front.

Working on a Dream is definitely considered an E Street album. Wrecking Ball, not really. A few of them appear (Weinberg on “Wrecking Ball” and “We Are Alive,” Clarence on “Wrecking Ball” and “Hope and Dreams,” and Patti and Soozie all over it). But no Steve, no Roy, no Nils, no Garry. I think I often think of it as an E Street album because he toured it with the full band.

Sort of agree but I really like Western Stars - It's pretty much a summation of the album in one image
