The “rank your albums” feature on Noisey was always astonishing, because the rankings were usually atrocious.

There are a lot of factors that can influence an artist’s view of their work that have very little to do with the actual finished product. I always think of what Zach Lind from Jimmy Eat World told me last fall when I asked if he could rank their albums. He told me they would have different criteria than a fan, because the experience of actually making the album is part of it for them. So, since Futures was “excruciating” to make (his words), he probably wouldn’t rank it as high as I would.

I've said it elsewhere, but Prize Fighter is their worst song. I hate that song so much.

Still liking this new album though!

Sam's Town and Battle Born. Some songs on Day & Age, lyrically more than sonically. Springsteen influence is pretty palpable on both of Brandon Flowers's solo albums, too. Flamingo more than Desired Effect, though.

Album art is terrible in my opinion, which sucks, cuz I keep the album on display as its my favorite. That will probably change when Imploding the Mirage arrives.

I can say that shitty album art has never impaired my enjoyment of an album.

I didn't realize how much of an atypical Killers fan that I am until now. I love Battle Born, think the album art is great, and I don't think 'Prize Fighter' is even close to being their worst song. I don't even like 'Prize Fighter' that much and I still think they have put songs on their actual albums that are much worse than 'Prize Fighter'.

Battle Born is definitely a fan favorite amongst people who have stuck with them. Most casual fans peter out around Sam’s Town/Day & Age.

Mew's "And the Glass Handed Kites" is one of my favorite records of all-time, so same.

I don’t think the Gaslight Anthem have any “good” album covers and they’re my favorite band of all time.

So are you saying you agree that BB's album art is lame or...?

I mean, it probably is my least favorite of their art, but I love their logo so much that seeing it on any cover does a lot for me. My gripe with the last two covers is they stopped having the logo front and center like that.

their logo is sick for a band logo

Oh man, I genuinely love the American Slang art, and The '59 Sound is simple and classic.

I saw this post earlier but had other dragons to slay first. I am curious to hear you elaborate on putting BB over WW. It's definitely close.

I have no intention of ever revisiting WW ever again and I might throw a BB song on once in a blue moon. That’s really it. The other 4 I will definitely go back to to varying degrees.
