Fully agree that the only Wonder Years album that's great all the way through is TGG

I have no idea what this means and Google did not help me when I searched “histrionic vocal delivery” and with the number of people who liked your post I feel like a big ol dumbass

I know beyonce has some important and iconic songs prior, but I don't think her solo career was v interesting or personally that remarkable until Four. With the exception of a few songs her releases did not rly get solid for me until four.

Hell no. The Wombats are fantastic. All their albums are good (the debut is patchy but a few standout songs save it), but on their third, Glitterbug, they absolutely hit it out of the park.

    Fantastic album.

TGG has a lot of great stuff on it but I think it also has a few clunkers. Sister Cities is their most consistant.

Suburbia for me, then TGG, then the other three are all good in different ways. I know people shit on The Upsides here, but that is a fantastic straight up fun pop punk record with some really important lyrics and memories for me.

I used to love TWY, but I never think about them anymore. Sister Cities was cool for a minute but had 0 staying power for me, and even the older nostalgic stuff doesn’t resonate anymore.

I remember when the review for TGG was given a negative score just to be edgy / “make a point” or some shit lmao

My biggest thing about TWY is that I only ever listen to them when I'm really really really really really sad.

I find Sister Cities to be legitimately bad. None of their best songs, and the production renders it borderline unlistenable for me. No thanks.

I went from hating The Wonder Years to loving them to being indifferent. Suburbia and The Greatest Generation were super important to me in college but nothing they’ve done since has really stuck with me. I also went to see The Kooks my freshman year because a girl I had a crush on was going. I did not like The Kooks and did not end up dating the girl.

The Kooks and The Wombats are the same brand of up-tempo, clanking nonsense designed to be used in supermarket adverts. Get in the sea.

I have never been told to get in the sea, but that's a fantastic phrase.

The Kooks debut was really good and then they got a bit hit or miss, but they’ve settled into being a pretty good career band of late

I've always liked The Wonder Years, but their production choices the past two albums have not been great. I've also noticed the histrionic vocal delivery and don't really vibe with it.

It speaks more to my changing tastes, but I get kind of exhausted with the gloominess of their stuff. Guess you could say I'm not sad anymore B-)
