the moment someone says they dont like the beatles is the moment i tune them out, i legitimately have 0 interest in anything else they have to say about music.

I always find it interesting that everyone's case for a great 60s album is "> anything The Beatles put out". Like...no. But it can still be amazing. There are lots of amazing 60s records that aren't The Beatles.

I appreciate the Beatles but I’m never going to throw one of their albums on.

the fact that Blur v Oasis conversation got 100x the action as "i dont like The Beatles" is just absolutely ridiculous

 

Gorillaz > Radiohead is a worse take than The 1975 > The Beatles.

 

in no world is that even remotely true

 

I just never really got into any music from before the 70s that wasn't in some way soulful (usually it is actual soul, or soul/blues/gospel adjacent rock, or jazz singers), and the Beatles, though of course amazingly talented and important, never quite struck me as soulful

 

So there was another thrash debate and Testament was left out of it?

 

God, these Beatles takes are terrible. I feel so sorry for people who don’t get them. They’re the best.
