I never got into The Beatles. What’s the one consensus album which should make finally understand?

 

Rubber Soul

Although The Beatles could record an album of farts and it'd be better than anything the 1975 did.

 

Ill take The 1975 over The Beatles eight days a week.

also, The Beatles never made a single album without a skippable track or 5. when they were on tho, yes indeed they were on.

probably their most balanced records, tho I really love a lot of the highlights from their later work.

I’m just honored that I could craft a shitpost so steamy that some random dude remembered it months later as to the exact point he stopped being shocked at people’s takes. I hope I could leave y’all with a few more to stew on.

 

Every time I’ve listened to The Beatles I’ve thought “this is good, I understand the reverence and lasting influence” and then completely forgotten to go back and listen more than once. So.

 

I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a full Beatles album all the way through.

 

Go with Abbey Road, or at least just listen to “Something”

 

The whole 60s-ish rock era is a total musical blind spot for me. All the classic bands like the Rollings Stones, Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd etc. I know songs of course but never listened to a full album.

 

Honestly, persevere with The Beatles. There's no band whose records FEEL as great as theirs do. The effortless swing in combination with those melodies is just an endless winner.

 

Never been a Beatles guy but I’ll never forget the time in high school I got impossibly stoned and my friend put on Magical Mystery Tour and halfway into the third song I had my eyes shut and went “dude I feel like I’m flying” and he was like “woah this song is called Flying” and then we laughed for 45 minutes

 

I could never listen to the Beatles...they just don't do it for me.

 

Also, I never enjoyed music festivals.

Love them but I've only been to Eaux Claires and MOPOP which I hear are pretty different from the majority of them. Not sure I'd last at Bonnaroo or something like that.

 

The last one I went to was Firefly in 2013..we camped. It was hot, gross, and overly priced. It's just too much. I'd much rather pay to go see a specific show.

 

They are definitely a young person's game. Doing a three day festival is pretty much a no go for me at this point. And I'd never camp at one.

 

I specifically bought vip tix for riot fest for the nice bathrooms and places to sit/relax lol. Gonna get a nice hotel too.
