I'm still very much in the camp that this thing isn't gonna happen, or we'll maybe get one week of games and it'll be shut down for good, so i'm not trying to get my hopes up by being "hyped"

but can I ask what thats based on? Just playing devils advocate

I think as of yesterday there was 1 player left on the Covid list (Ryan Pope from JAX)

I think once teams start traveling is when you're going to start seeing more and more positive tests come in like MLB

Yeah I’m surprised by how low the COVID cases have been for the NFL so far, especially with training camps going on

Like,,, you cannot easily reschedule NFL games like you can in MLB with doubleheaders and whatnot. There is soooo much time and preparation that goes into just one football game. Once these teams start traveling to other cities it's going to be a shitshow

  8. either the season won't finish in full or they'll have to cut out a middle portion of games

  9. it was the same with MLB during their summer camp stuff and then the season started and cases start popping up - it's the traveling that poses the biggest risk to upending the season.

same. I’m gonna watch my team for sure but I am not exactly anticipating the season like I usually am.

sure yeah but the MLB hasn't stopped though. Games have been cancelled/postponed but the season has still gone on

and yes I realize it isn't as easy to re-schedule NFL games

    The rivalry is back on

I honestly would be pretty surprised if they don’t finish the season. I’m not banking on every team playing every game, but a shut down in week 2 feels like an absolute worst case as opposed to a probable case

  14. right but as you pointed out it's way easier to reschedule baseball than it is football

it's almost like if one team gets or one game gets postponed/canceled they would have to postpone or cancel all those games because when would they reschedule a postponed or canceled game?

  15. right I'm leaning more to like a portion of games not happening than the actual season not happening.

There's no way the NFLPA will agree to an outright canceling of a game here and there for certain teams because of contract incentives for stats, games played, etc.

Either they reschedule (which is nearly impossible) or cancel the whole thing

  17. right but I don't think they'll cancel the entire season (I could just be misinterpreting your post too) - but I do think if a team has a COVID outbreak and they have to cancel their game that weekend that all the games will be canceled that weekend - maybe you were agreeing? I can't tell anymore lol

Sorry I realize my post is confusing lol

I don't think the NFLPA will agree to the NFL canceling games without them being rescheduled (which, again, I think is basically impossible) so that teams end up playing less than a 16 game schedule because of contract incentives, NFL contracts aren't guaranteed like in other sports. So unless they get a guarantee from the league that players will receive their incentives regardless of games played, stats, etc. I don't see how they could ever play a season without all teams reaching 16 games.

My guess is they'll play one or two weekends, teams will start getting outbreaks, and they cancel the entire thing.

I think the PA would bend on that issue because I assume the alternative is no one getting game checks for the remainder of the season

Why's Armando gotta Cuba bash? Shouldn't we all just love our country unequivocally?

Cuba has a better healthcare system
