Have any of y’all ever checked out And Justice for Jason? There’s a lot of versions out there so some are better mixed than others, but that album slaps with the boosted bass lol

I can follow this discussion because I read a book about metal, but I also at the same time can’t because I haven’t actually listened to anything those bands made except for Kill ‘Em All and the later Metallica hits that I couldn’t avoid hearing growing up. Basically except for Black Sabbath and Kill ‘Em All my whole metal knowledge is theoretical lol

Ok this thread is getting out of control but I can get behind this shit

But y'all missing out on that whole death thrash thing with Demolition Hammer, Vio-lence, Morbid Saint, etc

And some other damn good stuff like Annihilator, Forbidden, Voivod, Artillery, Toxik...

Onslaught are criminally underrated too IMO - they make some of the most STUPIDLY catchy thrash I've ever heard in my life.

I can’t stand this lol. There is sooooo so so much great music out there and so many different facets of music that it’s ridiculous to just assume that someone just knows all of the classics or what they presume to be classics. It’s exhausting.

sometimes, depending on the situation, but usually with strangers so it’s a one-time deal, I’ll act super dense like I’ve never even heard the name of the band before.

when I was... 22(ish) I was at a party and this guy kept trying to hit on a friend of mine while simultaneously telling her the history of Metallica (truly the best way to get someone to dig you) so I intervened and asked what a “Metallica” was. He thought I was joking but I played it so fucking straight faced.

conversation ended about ten minutes later When he stormed off after I kept ‘correcting’ him that it was a movie was called “Puppet Master” not an album called “Master of Puppets”.

In college a group of people including my girlfriend and I were talking about music and someone barely mentioned Metallica and this one guy looked straight into my girlfriend’s eyes and very seriously said Nothing Else Matters is the deepest song of all time

I might have fallen of a chair laughing a few seconds later

EDIT: Enter Sandman, not Nothing Else Matters

Since @nohandstoholdonto posted in here that the two guys from The 1975 are better songwriters than Lennon and McCartney were, I'm no longer shocked by any music opinions.
