Random, but can I complain about the whole "in/out of their league" business? Nearly everyone I'm attracted to I'd consider "out of my league" and then I've had people talk about my exes and how I was out of their league but I never felt that way whatsoever. I don't really know what my "league" is and that's probably because this league talk is silly and shallow but I feel like it's such an ingrained concept it's hard to shake sometimes.

 

If I'm attracted to them, they're out of my league

I'm sure that's just my low self esteem

I feel like that becomes a weird way to judge women by their looks, as is everything though

 

tbh if I stopped being concerned whether or not someone was in my league and just had a normal human interaction with them I'd prob fair better in the dating world lol. But I think if I perceive someone as being out of my league I become way too shy and anxious to ever have a normal human interaction with them anyway. Hence me awkwardly making too much eye contact and then shifting away too obviously with this guy I see around work sometimes lol

 

for the first girlfriend I had, my parents were super awful with it. They would consistently tell me "wow she is totally out of your league" or comment on how I dressed is so so unappealing so I was super worried about everything. It shows now when I'm worried about the littlest things like the way I dress or if the girl is better than me.

It makes it worse since now my little sister has her first boyfriend and they are super supportive about everything and it makes me sad since I didn't get the same treatment.

 

thanks! its pretty much the opposite of that, not a tough position for her to come at all for either of us it just kind of needs to happen due to some circumstances but my parents are totally cool with it
