Started the new Paper Mario tonight. Combat is a little dull, but otherwise I’m enjoying it quite a bit so far.

 

My girlfriend has recently got into playing games after like... never playing stuff before, and we're liking the SNES Donkey Kong and Super Mario, but we want something newer, we also kind of want to play simultaneously, so I was wondering if any of you who have DK Tropical Freeze or New Super Mario Bros U know if either game has a way for both of us to play together?

 

I know for sure you can play NSMBU at the same time. Just be prepared to break up haha

 

DK Tropical Freeze is the better game. Love it. And I think there is a simultaneous 2 player mode. Not that New Super Mario is bad or anything, but 2 player mode on that is mostly unplayable bc the other person will be bouncing on your head most of the time, intentionally or not.

Big publications are spreading the rumor that a new switch with a better display will be released in the spring

 

Sounds good to me. I’ll sell my current switch and upgrade when the time comes. Bound to be improvements other than just the display though, no?

 

There are still games that don't allow cloud backups, so that's the one bummer about a potential upgrade

 

That won’t happen, those games don’t allow backups because Nintendo is paranoid about cheaters, not because of some hardware issue

 

Oh yeah I don't think it's a hardware issue at all, it's just a reason why I'm more hesitant to upgrade. I'd want to sell my old one but don't want to lose my data, so it's hard

 

DK Tropical Freeze gets hard as fuck sometimes so watch out for that if it's a factor

 

Nintendo, give me my OLED 1080p Switch screen

And as a bonus, I genuinely think the LEGO games are a ton of childish fun and two of their best co-op games are on Switch. Lego City Undercover which is kind of like a LEGO version of GTA and then LEGO DC Supervillains

Oh man, give me a Samsung-made AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass and I'll preorder it immediately lol

 

Actually I think I’ll wait for the QLED 4K UHD curved screen with real 3D before buying a new Switch.

The 720p screen is holding back the BotW 900p and I’m tired of it tbh

 

I just bought my 4th switch. What’s a few more

 

I think it'll be a fairly incremental update if it's coming as soon as Q1 2021 but an upgraded wifi card, better quality handheld screen and making use of some of the additional power capabilities of the CPU at the very least would be nice

 

I'm fine with this Switch screen. Now if they had ever updated the 3DS screen I would've been all over that
