I've seen people use 'Mattman' for about a year now and I don't think it's bad.

Who are the guys in the scene where Patman beats the shit out of the one dude? Looks like they have the jagged smile like Ledger’s Joker.

My guess is that they are connected to Penguin due to their make up.

I honestly don't want to see that I just wanted an excuse to have batfleck and patman in one post

Hmm okay, I know little-to-none about Batman lore so that stuck out to me as weird. Must be just something I’m not aware of.

Watched this trailer Saturday and have been trying to hold off on watching it again too soon, because I know I'll watch it like 100x if I don't control myself. For some reason one of the shots really sticking with me is of batman's boots. Super cool mood setter.

Odds are half of the shots in the trailer won’t make the final cut if that helps

Man that delivery Dano does of the one line from the trailer is so chilling. "If you are 'justice', please do not lie. What is the price for your blind eye?"

Has it been discussed yet that the card from Riddler has an owl on it?

What are the odds that actual Court of Owls stuff ends up in this?

It'd be awesome, but the video game looks so so awesome with the Owls stuff.

Seems like a good bet for the plot could be something along the lines of the Waynes being involved in some kind of illicit dealings within Gotham (could be Court of Owls-related or maybe it could be mob-related given that John Turturro is playing Carmine Falcone). Thomas and Martha grew a conscience and wanted out, the people they were working with had them killed and staged it to look like a random mugging. Riddler has deduced Batman's identity, has uncovered what happened to Bruce's parents and why, and is trying to recruit him to his cause with this "game". All the clues tying into the history of Gotham, and "reinforcing" what Bruce already knows about the city's corruption, are Riddler's way of trying to lead Bruce to his side. That would feed into the internal struggle that Reeves mentioned, with Bruce wondering whether his methods are actually effective, whether he isn't going far enough, etc.

Also it looks like the powers that be are content to let this strange Bat character beat up low-level street criminals every night so long as he doesn't stick his nose into any powerful peoples' secrets. Clearly at the beginning of this trailer/the beginning of the movie he has a working relationship with GCPD. As the trailer progresses, and his investigation in the movie presumably does as well, that relationship, uh, changes.

I initially had reservations about Pattinson in the role, not because he isn't a great actor (he is a great actor) but just because I personally couldn't envision him as Batman. But as the promo images have come out, and now seeing this trailer, I've been more than convinced.

I feel like calling someone your favorite live action Batman based on a short teaser for a film that's only a quarter of the way done might be parody-level hype & corniness...

But, Robert Pattinson is already my favorite live action Batman.

The initial looks at him in costume didn't win me over, tbh, but I love the small taste we've gotten of his vibe. Exactly the right kind of gothic moodiness. It's the Batman I didn't know I needed in my life right now.

(It's ok to have a corny amount of hype as long as you throw in some self awareness, right?)

If you can’t get that hyped up about something, why even be a fan.

    I say let them hype!

Do we know who is talking to Batman in the trailer when he says “you’re becoming quite a celebrity” and “why does he write to you?”

    It’s Andy Serkis as Alfred.

Still funny to me that, in the same year, Andy Serkis is both playing Alfred & directing Venom. Especially since those are two of my three most anticipated comic book films of 2021 right now.

(oh my gosh there are so many comic book movies coming out next year)
