My girlfriend looked at me during the night vision shots with just a look of fear. More of that would have been awesome. The tension made me so anxious. It was really well executed.

 

Definitely some good shooting in the movie. I just couldn't feel for any characters and hate the "just out of reach" scenes or the "surprise i'm still here" scenes that are so easily recognizable. Then when you think you could feel bad for the old guy, he turns out to be awful too.

 

Need to revisit that one. I thought it was really clever and was not expecting what it morphed into. Unfortunately, seeing it in theaters gave my girlfriend nightmares.

Has anyone done any watching parties through Skype or Zoom or whatever? I guess it depends on who you do them with but is everyone just quiet through the whole thing, lost in the movie, or talking so much you can't pay attention? Theoretically it sounds like fun, just trying to gauge the experience before I set something up with friends.

 

I really enjoyed Don’t Breathe. As weird as it sounds, I kind of liked watching a horror movie where you weren’t rooting for anyone and everyone was awful.

 

My friends and I have done it a couple times on Discord and we all just talk during it, usually about the movie, but everyone is just half paying attention. So we tend to just pick Nic Cage movies.

 

Yeah that's why I assumed horror would be the best, something super fun or ridiculous. Going to see if some people are down for like Slumber Party Massacre 2 or a VHS.

 

How awesome is 28 Days Later? Suspenseful from start to finish and truly horrific at times. Also they selected the perfect song for that score from Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Probably just need to watch 28 Weeks Later now.

Yeah, pretty torn on that one. I love Halloween 2018 but that's been a franchise for over 40 years. This seems unnecessary, but I'll keep an open mind.

 

Watched Don't Knock Twice. Truly awful and has a completely nonsensical plot with a horribly unsatisfying ending. The CGI is pretty bad too.
