I can’t wait to revisit these reactions when the next trailer drops street they’re done filming. Ave again after that after the movie comes out.

Motherfucker I got hardcore chills at this

Batman is bar none the best superhero, you can't convince me otherwise. Basically the only one I still care about actually besides Spider-Man lol

This looks fantastic. I’m so happy this looks like it will be a detective Batman film.

Looks sick. This is by far the most I've ever been excited for a comic book movie

Why did I keep thinking I saw Hush?

You mean the masked guy with glasses? That's almost certainly Riddler... though, that's a good catch I'm surprised I haven't seen or thought of yet, lol. Between Riddler being the main villain, this being more of a detective story, & Catwoman, I imagine Hush was one of the bigger influences on this. Which, maybe we won't see him unmasked 'til the end & will get some bait & switches then.

Dang, now I wanna reread Hush, lol.

lol yeah. I love Hush a lot so I'm here for any influence. I think adapting Loeb stories in general works for me.

Hush & Long Halloween look like the biggest influences so far, so you’re in luck. Though, let’s be real...

I don’t know how most of comic fandom feels about Tom King’s Batman these days, but I’d also like some of that influence in the Bat & Cat relationship. His take on their dynamic is my favorite.

I started Tom Kings Batman and thought it was ok. But DC cutting it short before he could finish it was disappointing.

Definitely sounds like Colin when he says “That guy’s crazy!” Anyway, I’ve probably watched this twenty times already and it’s crazy to think I might be seeing a Batman movie better than Nolan’s in a year.

Makes me think of Zodiac. What a perfect movie.

If anything, I hope this is more Zodiac than Se7en. I want it to be more grounded in reality and not as fantastical. Plus, it’s the better movie anyway.

Feel like the past couple years showed that Tom King has exactly one thing he does, which works or doesn’t based on whatever artist & characters he’s paired with at the moment. The highs of his Batman are some of the best stuff I’ve read in an ongoing Batman title, though, much of it around Bruce & Selina’s relationship.

Also, this page is my favorite badass Batman moment ever:

I liked King’s Batman run. My only criticism was there was barely any of the bat-family for most of it. But I guess that was being covered over in Tynion’s DC at the time.

Reeves also took a lot of inspiration from Darwyn Cooke's Batman: Ego

Did he specifically say this? Maybe it’s ‘cause I haven’t read that one in years, but that isn’t an obvious influence to me right now.

The late Darwyn Cooke is my all time favorite cartoonist, so if true, I ain’t gonna complain.
