I honestly think I hate this movie so much that it even ruined the things I liked about the previous two

Yeah, I have no desire to revisit the previous two now knowing it leads to this — ruins everything that came before it for me.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

I'll always love TLJ as the masterpiece that it is. This film on the other hand doesn't exist

I know there are rumors going around that the sequel trilogy is going to end up being a part of an alternate universe or something, but I really hope they just move on from Skywalker.

I dunno, this one feels so disconnected from 7 & 8 that it’s not that hard for me to separate mentally.

I’ve got headcanon for what how the story could have progressed outside of this one. That’s the great thing about fiction, you can kind of just do what you want with it.

The Last Jedi is great independently

I wouldn’t mind if Disney took 7-9 out of canon tbh, but I don’t see it happening

That’s the only thing that could make this worse lol, being too cowardly to just own it

Oh I absolutely agree. I love Star Wars and I see how these sequels are special to children right now. I see the importance to a little girl who looks up to Rey. I really saw it yesterday while at Hollywood Studios. I’m an OT guy, and those are the movies for me when it’s all said and done. While the sequel could mean nothing to some OT fans, they’re everything to the new generation. I think if they were to make them as legends and not canon it would be a slap in the face to all the young fans that these mean so much to. I still enjoy the sequels for what they are. TLJ actually may be my second favorite Star Wars movie.

  11. It still means a lot to me that KMT was cast in TLJ (which is part of why TROS was such a let-down: Rose got sidelined hard)

Any rumors originating from a Youtuber named Doomcock need not be speculated about or ruminated upon.

Rey and Kylo were such strong characters for the series

Finn is the most ‘should be interesting but is actually totally disappointing character’ ever

I have a long stay at home vacation in a week and maybe I’ll finally watch TROS

    TLJ forever.

but there are still moments from this that I love and get stuck in my head. not sure if it’s enough to redeem it, but enough to tempt me to rewatch the whole thing.

JJ not putting the original 3 together in Force Awakens is criminal and now we’ll never get it.

I think it works. The Last Jedi tackles the theme deeper than TFA does, but the idea of things going awry and not playing out the way we thought they would, and for Luke, not necessarily handling that the best way he could have, plays into the idea of losing touch and never being able to make things 100% right. It feels like a part of his climax in TLJ, and that’s set up by Luke and Han never meeting in TFA. I wouldn’t call TFA a restrained movie when it comes to fan indulgence, but in this one instance the frustration or sadness we as fans feel that we don’t get to see Han, Luke, and Leia together again one last time plays on a character and thematic level in TLJ.

  21. Haven't seen this since opening night so I just put it on and I made it about 10 minutes. It's probably worse than I remember it being.
