Kinda weird that they're slowly erasing the legacy of the black artist they bought Beats from but okay.

  2. Beats is not Dr. Dre's legacy

sorry, that's not what I meant, but it feels like they're erasing him in a way? idk how to best put it.

  4. I mean he sold them the company all those years ago - his headphones still have prime placement and focus in the company. I don't really think he cares about the name of an online radio station haha

I don't think there's anyone on the planet that pays attention to this market who doesn't know Apple made Dre a billionaire.

And yeah, far from his "legacy." That still lies with NWA and his solo career/producer career.

Sent my Series 3 in last Friday because I was pretty sure a crack had developed that qualified for the watch replacement program and I'm already getting a replacement delivered tomorrow, that was super fast.

I was chatting with support about a crackling problem with one of my AirPod Pros on Sunday afternoon and the replacement came this morning. Crazy fast.

I need to do this. I have the cracking/popping constantly and also lose sound completely every few seconds but that happens way less often.

MacBook Air is coming in the mail today. Suggestions for protecting it?? Don't want anything too bulky.

I have always liked the hard shell cases. They’re still slim, protect from scratches, and a ton of different colors.

They made it super easy for me. Just had to answer like 10-15 minutes of questions over text chat. I was putting it off for a while because my iPhone also needed to be fixed, but they covered it under Repeat Repair because my problem began after a screen replacement. That process took a few weeks and a little headache but in the end they gave me a brand new XS for free. Nothing but good things to say.

  12. Both my AirPods Pro have been replaced since getting them. The first was at the beginning of quarantine and that took a couple weeks. The other was during the brief time the stores were open and that was insanely easy. Super happy.

  13. The Case of the Top Secret iPod - TidBITS
It was a gray day in late 2005. I was sitting at my desk, writing code for the next year’s iPod. Without knocking, the director of iPod Software—my boss’s boss—abruptly entered and closed the door behind him. He cut to the chase. “I have a special assignment for you. Your boss doesn’t know about it. You’ll help two engineers from the US Department of Energy build a special iPod. Report only to me.”

The next day, the receptionist called to tell me that two men were waiting in the lobby. I went downstairs to meet Paul and Matthew, the engineers who would actually build this custom iPod. I’d love to say they wore dark glasses and trench coats and were glancing in window reflections to make sure they hadn’t been tailed, but they were perfectly normal thirty-something engineers. I signed them in, and we went to a conference room to talk.

They didn’t actually work for the Department of Energy; they worked for a division of Bechtel, a large US defense contractor to the Department of Energy. They wanted to add some custom hardware to an iPod and record data from this custom hardware to the iPod’s disk in a way that couldn’t be easily detected. But it still had to look and work like a normal iPod.

They’d do all the work. My job was to provide any help they needed from Apple.

The AirPod Pros have been both the best and worst apple product i have ever owned.

Still feel like Bluetooth ear buds sound too finnicky and not worth the high price tag when the batteries start to deteriorate quickly due to their low capacity.

I'd much rather use a set of Bluetooth over-ear headphones for comfort and a huge battery capacity, and a headphone jack adapter if I really did find myself needing to use ear buds. But I get how the airpods are super handy for people who go on jogs and whatnot, and if you can afford to replace them every couple of years, why not?

Sorry for the standard questions that have probably been asked a ton of times y'all, got the MacBook and its perfect, just ordered a ton of stuff to protect it.

As far as a browser I was using Firefox because it used left memory than Chrome, but I just had a buddy tell me Safari is actually best for MacBook. I always just assumed Safari was garbage I'm not sure why I thought that.

Does everyone else here use Safari?? Or Chrome/Firefox?

    I'd rank them:

    Chrome
    Safari
    Firefox
and then nothing really worth talking about

  18. Firefox is better than Chrome imo, but Safari is really great and the browser that I always use.

I split mine between Chrome for work and Safari for personal use.

  20. Full time Safari user. Great for laptops and recommended. Power/battery alone makes it a win.

  21. I love safari. I only use chrome for my podcast research and I already forget why.

If I could just forget it

    Safari all the way.

Firefox and Chrome don't work on twitter/FB properly so I've been using Safari since the initial beta came out.

I’d love to have a brand new iPod classic. Or at least a new battery. But I don’t know how to do it myself or know anyone to do it for me. I’ve never liked putting music on my phone
