Yeah people should quit acting like it’s not possible when millions will be disenfranchised this year because of virus fears (preventing them from voting in person) and USPS sabotage (preventing them from voting by mail). The whole “enthusiasm gap” thing that I keep getting told is a myth is going to figure heavily when one side’s followers are either willing to die to cast their vote (or don’t believe there’s any danger at all) and the other side isn’t willing to die to do the same.

 

I truly hope the word gets out fast enough for people to send their ballots in by mid October. It's the best shot we have. Apparently my GE ballot should be arriving sometime in September and I'm filling it in immediately when I get it. Not sure that other mail-in states are as lucky

this year instead of declaring a winner they should declare a loser when the election is over that would be way funnier to see a frowning trump (hopefully) face with LOSER written on it

Definitely a great thread to share. Some states will even let you vote by mail *and* in person if you feel your ballot won't be received but you sent it already.

I was reading up on the laws in my state, and I believe I saw they just count whichever ballot comes first

Growing up, I remember my dad (a lifelong Democrat) constantly ripping Christine Whitman around the house while she was our governor. Looking back, it was my first experience with learning to despise GOP politicians. That she has a speaking slot at the DNC is incredibly surreal to me.

 

I didn’t know that but that figures. She sucks.

Hmm. Like has been discussed she IS pretty progressive in terms of policy. I assumed she had a big chance to be Bernie’s pick as well if he took the nomination. Surprised it wouldn’t be Liz as his favorite but yeah
