You were right. I’m cruising along and not getting lost nearly as often. This game is so much fun.

I hated what I played of Skyward Sword but I’ll be willing to try it again

I really have to agree with DDBird here. It's definitely not in the same tier and I think it needs to be pushed harder to be able to get to a higher tier in terms of sales and general public brand awareness.

Yeah, I'm not here to diss Metroid. Like, if I could have one Nintendo IP released tomorrow it would be Metroid Prime 4. I'm just trying to talk business sense. Nintendo should stick with the casual gamer market during their launches. I would vote new Mario 3D platformer all day long for launch.

I mean, I think most 3D Mario platformers are whatever and stale and they need to update their art style, but I agree. They would sell like hotcakes.

I hope you mean the 2.5D Mario platformers or else we’re fighting

Whatever 3D World and New Super Mario Bros 2 With Luigi U Deluxe. That art style is garbo needs to go.

Well. I think the Mario platformer games are good, but I could live without them at this point. They're not something I pre-order or even buy remotely close to the release date. But yeah, those games sell and are easily accessible for all people. I get why people love it.

Nobody ever cared about Metroid in Japan and even in the West it has never been a top seller, but some people perceive it to be bigger than it is because it is such a critical darling

BotW is very much not a casual game and turned out to be brilliant launch game. But it’s Zelda.

The timing of Prime 4 being a Switch 2 launch title looks like it will probably line up, so whether people in this thread think it’s a good idea or not (it is), chances seem good that Prime 4 will be a launch title for the next Nintendo console. Might be cross-gen, of course. But regardless, it’s looking like we’re not going to see that game for at least another three years.

Yeah I mean who knows what Nintendo will do in terms of hardware, maybe the next Nintendo console is a Switch One X

    SILKSONG LETS GOOOO

but seriously, I remember seeing some dev saying their game would be launching this summer but couldn’t specify any details due to “something exciting happening with Nintendo” but I can’t remember what it was now. Expecting whatever it was to shadow drop though

I wonder how Nintendo will top the Switch. They found the sweet spot to combine their home consoles and handhelds. I don't really see what else they could do except a Switch on steroids. Similar to what Sony and Microsoft have done the past couple gens, releasing basically the same console with minor differences that has stronger specs and a different design.

It is not impossible that they will split the two again, if they have some special idea for a home console again ala Wii

As much as I would just prefer the next console to be “a more powerful Switch”, I know Nintendo never does the same thing twice so we shouldn’t expect that.

Also, idk why Nintendo is bothering with an IndieWorld showcase video when everyone prefers them just posting random tweets a month before a game comes out. I thought big multiple-announcement videos weren’t necessary. Hm.

Do we know this? Did Nintendo say something or is this speculation based on the general console lifespan?

they said back in May 2020 that the switch is about halfway through its life cycle

Man, I’m hoping Skyward Sword is real news and it comes out by Christmas. I’ve been wanting to revisit that game but am too lazy to hook up the Wii or Wii U and have to go buy batteries for the remotes.

I can almost guarantee that if it's real it won't be released until Zelda's 35th next year
