I honestly don’t remember them being there. The only bands I remember playing on the small stages were GC, UL, Sugarcult and Stroke 9. All of them played really good sets.

oh hey! I wonder if you know it (know me even?? lol) I noticed you do a Jimmy Eat World podcast. Not sure if that's the same one I saw (didn't listen, but I saw a tweet from a podcast the other day). Anyway, it's this one-Take off your pants and podcast. I didn't use that link though, because I don't have Spotify (*gasps. I know!! :P ). Guessing you do though?? or can figure it out?

Never seen Blink live, but did get to see Box Car Racer with H2O and The Used opening up on Halloween in Atlanta. Second show I'd ever been too. I think I was a freshman in high school? 99X was doing a costume contest that night at the show, so lot's of naughty nurses of course. As a freshman in high school, I was ok with that.

I probably have seen other folks on this forum too, just don't know it's them...well, except for one that we do follow each other now.

Mark just confirmed on his IG live chat Matt is in Feldy’s studio working on new blink music.

 

So does that mean everyone can let this go for a while and just be excited about new music in the works?

I'm only surprised Mark didn't put Neighborhoods at the end and that NINE and California aren't switched

 

Mark doesn't have good taste in his band

 

It’s weird for sure because I always associAted Tom and his wants with the musical turn they took on Untitled, whereas Mark seemed more into keeping that punk sound and/or the Enema/Jacket pop punk vibes. Nine is closer in tone to Untitled than California is, so weird that he’d rank it above the other.

but i also wonder if both neighborhoods and California get a bounce in his mind because they were kind of “return” albums and he was just happy to be back in the studio making a blink album again.

 

Mark also confirmed that there will not be a NINE Deluxe, and this will be a new EP. I think he said they picked the track listing already, so hopefully it will be out sooner than later.

 

Yeah, I would do this exact same thing and call it good. I'd give anything to hear them attempt something like Untitled again one day. I wouldn't want it to sound the same as Untitled, I'd just want it to have the same layering and songwriting strength that Untitled had (it's hard conveying what I'm trying to say here). Jerry Finn was unlike anyone else when it came to working with Blink, and since he also did Alk3 work, I have no doubt he would've been able to pull something really special out of Matt being in the current iteration of the band.

 

Blink were my first gig, December 1st 2004, Glasgow. One of the last gigs before the hiatus. Loved it.

 

I think mine may be fairly similar. As much as I loved DR and CC when I was younger, I can’t remember the last time I listened to them in full. I’d probably swap California and Nine.

Him only ranking eight albums just makes the album title NINE that much stupider.

I'm also surprised he ranked Neighborhoods higher than Dude Ranch, and California higher than Nine.

 

kinda funny that nine is only the ninth album if you count Buddha, and then he didn’t count it
