I have Surviving as their 6th best work, below Clarity. But pretty incredible their 6th best album is better than most bands third best.

And I never felt Surviving was too short. Everyone wants longer albums with more tracks, but I'm such a stickler for quality over quantity. Give me 10 tracks ranging from excellent to good, over 15 tracks ranging from excellent to average or forgettable, everyday of the week.

Would love to see him do one with Vinnie from LTJ. Would be cool hearing about his perspective of putting out some stuff through Fueled By Ramen. Vinnie did a podcast interview maybe early this year or late last year where they talked about him putting out for Jimmy Eat World when LTJ was on Capitol.

 

What if any original bsides they have from the Surviving sessions are nothing but quality?

 

This would bump it up for me.

Oh man what a great episode. Nate Ruess and Jim have a really neat level of comfortableness when talking with eachother. Straight up good guys for sure. Had no idea Nate was such a fan of JEW!

 

This always makes me smile - Jim playing The First Single with The Format.

hard for me to listen to surviving without resenting myself. that is, it came out at an amazing time in my life when everything was going well and I was able to take the album to heart. now I’m in the worst spot I’ve ever been in, completely torn apart and alone and when I think of the album it makes me think of everything I lost and threw away. it’s really sad and it sucks.

Forgot how awesome this show is. I remember illegally downloading the live video of "Clarity" back in the day haha. FYI - The audio is not synced up with the video in this full show video, but it's still cool lol
