The Switch would be even better if you could hook it up to the TV and still use the touch screen

Getting my mothafuckin CONS back today. I need new wrist straps though, feels weird using them without those straps

I honestly never use the cons like that. Only in handheld mode or the goat pro controller.

100%. It’d make porting DS family games over way easier too.

Yeah same but when I get new ones or get them newly repaired I'll use em like that for a few days haha.

I honestly enjoy using the cons that way idk why I don't do it more.

Those are good numbers for animal crossing, but tbh I don’t see half of the players returning for the next installment unless it releases during another pandemic. Right game at the right time.

It did double the sales of the last one with a smaller install base so you might be on to something

Overall more games were sold than usual for all consoles in the last few months, which is clearly pandemic related

I’m still glad a game like AC was finally able to have massive sales for how long it’s been going on

Just got my joy-cons in the mail, they absolutely, positively just gave me brand new ones. What a deal, I don't know why anybody WOULDN'T do this. I sent my 2+year old beat to shit joy-cons I got with the system and they just sent me new ones in 10 days absolutely free. Thank you Nintendo, fuck the haters.

Yeah I mean the 3DS one did 12 million, that was pretty massive already, but this is wild

My girlfriend has at least 6 friends that bought a switch JUST for animal crossing

Switch is now the second highest selling Nintendo console

Unless you count all their handheld systems, which the switch technically is

You can also count it as a console. I rarely see or hear Nintendo and gamers refer to the Switch as the successor to the 3DS, mostly just the successor to the Wii U.

According to wiki it’s a hybrid eighth gen console, so I compare it to Nintendo’s past consoles.

While the Switch is successful, it is also the only Nintendo device, whether you call it a console or a handheld, that they are actively supporting. The sales are not being split across two devices like they had been for years. Even if you consider the Switch Lite a handheld and the Switch a console, those sales all get wrapped up into one.

That depends on where in the world you are. In Japan for example it is very much branded as a handheld. Also the Switch Lite is literally only a handheld and responsible for 10 million of those sales already.

Exactly, the lite is literally only a handheld, would Nintendo release a handheld version to a console they themselves would consider a handheld?

Of course, this is all subjective, but it’s fun to discuss. All that really matters is that the Switch is behind only the Wii in console sales, which is a good bounce coming off of the Wii U.

Yes because it is cheaper. It’s the 2DS. Anyway, I don’t think the Switch would have done as well without the handheld component and the Lite, so you can’t discount the handheld part when comparing sales numbers.
