  1. Katanagatari is great. It has the engaging, witty dialogue of the Monogatari series, but it's different enough to be its own thing.

Happy to hear that. I'm waiting until it finishes airing, but I'm excited.

A friend recommended Yuru Yuri to me and man, Slice of Life comedy is not my thing. Too relentless with the same jokes over and over again. (Episode 4 is especially egregious in this, everything at the beach was frustrating)

Think I'll give it another 2 episodes before I drop it.

Twin Star Exorcists got a thousand times better these past few episodes. This is what I was waiting for and it is totally worth it. Definitely would rec if you were unsure. The pacing is slow in the beginning but I really love it now.

I'm rewatching Rurouni Kenshin for nostalgia feels. I love this show, but forgot just how much filler there is. I never finished it years ago and am now finding that apparently it's best to just stop at episode 62 which works for me because limited time and stuff.

Just finished Kiznaiver, which I enjoyed, but felt a bit shallow by the end. It was definite eye candy, though. Studio Trigger really knows how to put together a stylish, beautifully animated show.

A few episodes into ReLIFE per a few friends' recommendation and liking it so far. Pretty easy to watch slice-of-life with a sort of similar plot device to Erased (which is probably my favorite show I've seen in years), but much more light-hearted and different enough to not seem gimmicky.

Headed to Anime Weekend Atlanta next month as a birthday gift to myself and to see close friends, so I always find myself binging shows pretty hard before a convention. Any recommendations of newer/currently airing stuff? I like pretty much everything.

Been watching a lot of new stuff lately:

Sweetness and Lightning, after reading the manga. Such a nice and adorable series

Orange is a fun and intriguing slice of life

Good Morning Call is a fun, live action comedy kinda thing that I've been enjoying

ReLIFE is another interesting slice of life with a twist

I haven't seen Kizumonogatari yet and actually forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me! I'll probably watch it in the next few days.

Anyone read Bleach's last manga chapter?

Looks like they busted a Naruto with the new generation

Bleh. So anti-climactic. The Ywach stuff was pretty lame. I think the last arc I truly enjoyed was the vizard and Espada arcs.

Honestly I was done once Aizen was defeated, and only stayed on because I had already committed so much time to it. I definitely didn't think that I'd be a bigger fan of Naruto than Bleach when I started watching both oh so long ago.

  15. One of these days I'm going to watch all of the non-filler Shippuuden episodes, and maybe Bleach. I left off where Naruto was fighting Pain (160ish/475) and Ichigo just fought Ulquiorra (270ish/366). Yeah, that far.

Yuru Yuri gets a lot better. Episode 4 was bad, but it's steadily been getting better.

Watched the first episode of Orange. Something felt off about the animation. Not sure if I want to go back to it either way. Still working through DRRR second season.

  18. I tried reading the Orange manga, but couldn't get past the first 3-4 chapters. The premise — "girl receives letters from her future self offering vague advice on how to live" — just doesn't do it for me.

  19. I watched The Case of Hana & Alice the other day and really enjoyed it. I'd recommend it to anyone who can tolerate mediocre rotoscoping.

Mob Psycho 100 is everything I wanted out of the adaptation apart from a few scenes. It's only getting better too. Mondays are now Mobdays

I still can't get over how absurd and insanely awesome the process of creating the ending was too

Anything else worth watching this season btw apart from Re:Zero and Jojo both of which are things I need to pick back up

Alright, guys. I'm new to anime. Only one I've watched so far is one on Netflix, Aldnoah.Zero.
I wanna start Sword Art Online and Tokyo Ghoul. So, those of you who have watched both, which should I start with? Cause I can't decide.

Tokyo Ghoul. Shorter, but also a ton better.

I recommend Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, and Madoka Magica. All on Netflix.

So I usually avoid really popular anime because I almost never like them (see Sword Art). But I watched seven episodes of Re: Zero yesterday.
