I've found myself weirdly eager to see this lately, in spite of hating Disney live action remakes.

You have to already be a paying subscriber for the chance to pay thirty dollars to see it?

I expected this but not that outrageous price.

  7. Do you own it then?

If so 30 bucks isn't bad if you have multiple people using your account. Myself, my sister, and my parents use my account, so 10 bucks a family.

$30 for a worse first time viewing experience, yikes...

  10. My parents have 3 younger kids (my younger siblings) - $30 + $7 to subscribe is still way cheaper than going to the theater to see it

Guess it depends on the person and the place you can get to but for me, I love it.

D+ is gonna need over six and a half million of its users to buy this just to match the budget apparently

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. What kinda limited release will it get in open markets, drive-ins, whatever? Will it get a full, proper release in China? How long do you get access after paying that? When will it go to regular VOD (or, regular Disney+)? How will it affect Disney+’s subscriber base?

  20. I think that will happen once families and people realize there is no new content coming out in theaters or on television haha

This movie will most likely make its budget back in China alone

lol i will happily pay $30 if my wife and I went to the theaters to see it it’s at least $50 with tickets and snacks and now i can drink my own damn beer and pause it to pee. The value is there folks.

If someone doesn’t have D+ will they have to pay $7 for a subscription and then $30 for Mulan? That would be whack.

Idk, i think if you were assuming it would eventually be free or like a $9.99 rental i think that was delusional. Disney charging for it completely makes sense and, the logic has to be that the average trip to the movies features at least 2 people, so why not strive to at least make the money you’d spend regardless? Sure there are people who go alone, or go to matinees, or subscribe to a monthly theater program that this makes no sense for - and that’s fine - but i think, as per usual, disney says jump and the general public will say “how much can i pay to jump?”.
