Man, Malcolm In The Middle was/is so good. I've been meaning to do a whole rewatch, have watched some random episodes here and there and I think it still holds up. Severely underrated show.

 

I binged it on Netflix maybe 4 years ago, having never seen it before. I mainly checked it out for Bryan Cranston, and loved the whole show. I definitely want to do another rewatch soon

 

Raising Hope is another great show that’s similar to MITM

 

Can't imagine spending $30 to watch a movie on a service I'm already paying a monthly fee for, which will eventually be free on said service anyways

 

It's breaking my brain that people don't think this makes sense for the consumer

With Mulan it’s kind of a family flick so if you’re going as a family of 4, just as an example, you’re spending $40 on tickets alone before snacks

We get it you don’t live in a major city where ticket prices can be close to $20

 

Well yeah, if you have a family of 4 it'll be cheaper than going to the theaters, but it's a bit alienating to non-families

 

disney don't give a shit about non-families they want four times the amount of money. in hindsight, it would make that much less sense to do this for an mcu film

 

i'd be shocked if they don't do this with soul as well, especially if their plans with mulan are successful

 

Lol yeah fair point. Disney just bein' Disney. I'm not a fan of this, but I'm sure they've crunched their numbers and know what they're doing

 

nah I live in Minneapolis and I get it haha, I’m just frugal. I wait for matinee or discount theater

 

there are going to be a lot of people that don't have to imagine this and do it without a second's thought

 

Yeah that's totally fine for those people, just a bummer for single people who might want to see it! If it were even $20 it wouldn't bother me because that's at least the ticket price for a pricier theater.

I'm not saying that it's unreasonable in a time when theaters are shut down due to pandemic. Just that I wouldn't do it when I could just wait a month and save $30 without even needing to pirate it . No judgement to those who do pay for it.

 

I have 3 kids and feel the same as @RyanPm40 I'm not gonna pay that much for a movie that'll end up being free on the service a few months later.

 

Mickey Mouse is a greedy fuck regardless

 

I'll just download it that day when it's inevitably ripped and I'll watch it for free while still giving them my filthy Disney+ money.
