Also Netflix horror offerings used to be great...

 

I was pleasantly surprised by Host. Some of the scares genuinely got me.

 

The Beach House was bleak, but I thought it essentially boiled down to being a much better version of The Mist.

 

I liked The Mist way more. The Beach House had some really good moments but overall just kinda felt like a more boring version of Color Out of Space.

 

I saw the Mist in theaters the day before Christmas... good times!

 

The Beach House made me think more of Annihilation, especially with the last shot of the main character just disintegrating into the ocean

 

god damn, loved haunting of hill house. flanagan's that homie.

 

Host was so much fun. Was NOT expecting to enjoy it nearly as much as I did. One of the biggest surprises for me in a while.

Downloaded the Shudder trial. Have watched Host. What else should I check out on there

 

Host was fucking fantastic. I haven’t felt tension like that from a horror movie in a long time.

 

In Search Of Darkness was so up my alley it isn’t even funny. I unfortunately couldn’t stand the Dead Meat guy though. Everything he said sounded so fake and canned like I was watching VH1 Best Week Ever.

I’m watching Haunt now!

 

Host was good. Also watched The Clovehitch Killer this weekend after going down a recent BTK wormhole recently and while not horror outright, it was a very effective thriller. Dylan McDermott was solid.

 

I was not a fan of Haunt

 

I wish Haunt hadn’t been as violent and I hated the one dude a lot but it was surprisingly enjoyable and the setting effective. Definitely the best “adults go to an extreme haunted house” movie I’ve seen but that’s kinda a low bar to clear; I wish it had been less gratuitous and a little shorter. Kinda lost me toward the end. Also that baseball swing shot was so hilariously stupid lol

 

Should probably give that one another go, I think I was kinda drunk and fell asleep during the third act

All of her retweets and display name and stuff are about it and it makes zero sense to me. It's funny to me that there's an audience for alternative universe fanfic based on a tiny reveal from the end of the second movie lol

Psycho was Van Sant’s follow up to Good Will Hunting so he could have had the choice to make almost any type of reasonably budgeted movie. A few years later he said in an interview “it was an experiment that proved that no one can really copy a film exactly the same way as the original.”
