Guess I’ll have to fire up Shudder and watch this.

First time I watched this I was too influenced by the trailers/title and was disappointed it wasn’t a monster flick. Watched it again at the beginning of the pandemic and yeah this thing rules.

Yeah I definitely need to revisit it

  4. I loved it when I saw it and was definitely baffled by the reception from some folks, but I can see how the marketing could have been misleading. I copped a really cheap DVD copy a couple of months back and am excited to give it another go!

Yeah I also watched it recently, and thought it was solid

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah I loved It Comes at Night from the get-go, but I didn't see any trailers or marketing beforehand which might be why. still think the nightmare sequences in that movie are far scarier than any monster reveal would've been lol

speaking of, Relic was really, really fucking good. wow that ending

  7. Finally got around to Underwater. Big Cloverfield energy, had a lot of fun with it. Also did not expect for it to be a stealth Cthulhu movie, about lost my damn mind when he showed up. Very thankful I somehow managed to stay in the dark about that all year!

Finally watched Kill List for the first time. That was intense and I’m left with some questions. The story reminded me of Hereditary a little bit.

jay and gal being chased through the woods and those tunnels by those screaming, naked cultists was more terrifying than any zombie or vampire chase

Just watched Climax - while not "horror horror" it certainly was horrific! I'm not crazy about it but the cinematography was pretty top notch. Only other Gaspar Noe movie I've seen is Irreversible.

I’m a huge fan of Issa Rae and all her work so far. Super happy to see her working with Jordan Peele.

I really want to watch it. Is there sexuality uncomfortable?

I've been rewatching the first three Paranormal Activity movies this week. These are so effective

Never seen the other 3. We'll get to it this time

there are elements to each one that are great. Wish they could’ve use the best parts of each to create one amazing horror film.

I think the first three are all very good as is. I've heard nothing but bad about 4 and the last one but the first three are very solid

make a bagel without the hole Prestigious

I don’t remember which one it was but there is one (After the first 3) where there is a “twist” (not a twist per se but can’t think of a better term) where something happens that totally blew my mind and I thought It was pretty fucking cool and got my attention and I was totally on board with it. Can’t remember if it connected to future films or was just a connection to another storyline but there were moments in the last couple that I really enjoyed but by that time the series was too formulaic and almost kind of sort of seemed like a cash grab but never fully went overboard to that extent

I will never forget watching the first PA by myself on my laptop in my bedroom in like 2009 and being legitimately freaked. I rather enjoy the first 3, found 4 to be bland, and never saw the last two. It's funny this got brought up though because a friend of mine just marathoned and ranked them all and I thought about going back to them.
