Death Rattle is so good, my favorite of the new songs so far. I’m all for a new PFI record!

Just got the postponement email for the Royal Oak show in August. Guessing the whole tour will be announced as postponed tomorrow

"The second track “Welcome Home” persists as the group’s heaviest moment ever"

I will not stand for this "Gravemakers & Gunslingers" erasure

We reach for the longest shadow

Kind of think Gravity's Union is the heaviest. Claudio even uses a 7 string for that one. It's also a little more raw than anything off GA and NWFT.

My nostalgia is really keeping me from saying this outright, but I think there's a good argument for Gravity's Union being their best song.

The biggest treat here is Claudio's facial hair.

Seriously though, this is cool. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I'm sure Claudio and Josh had a blast working on a song together.

Yeah I don't really like the song, but it's pretty fun and Claudio's trucker hair is LOL

In his livestream today Claudio mentioned this is a very old one they wrote when Josh first returned to the band and that the PFI album will have around 11 tracks total. So 6 left unheard.

Honestly? Not much outside of like, Tom Sawyer, and maybe listening to their top songs on Spotify once. I have an incredible blind spot musically when it comes to pre-90s stuff. I'm aware of the classics, and know what they sound like, but I don't ever listen to them for enjoyment.

Oooh, a lot of modern progressive rock was pioneered by rush. It’s Coheeds most obvious influence, so it makes sense. The song 21:13 is a play off of Rush’s 21:12 suite.

I’m similar in the sense that I have that major blind spot as well, so I definitely recommend giving 2112 and the following compilation a listen to get a better understanding of rush. And Neil Peart is one of the greatest drummers of all time, Alex Lifeson doesn’t get the credit he deserves, and Geddy Lee is a classic front man. They’re one of the greats, and only a 3-piece.

Claudio insists they weren’t listening to Rush when they wrote 21:13 but I think he’s full of shit. That little bit at 5:14? C’mon
