Just picked up a Lydia - This December test press from bad timing.

 

I missed out on the Acceptance - Phantoms test press. Unfortunately the page did not refresh at 2 pm like I had hoped. A minute later it was sold out.

 

I tried to snag that too but I wanted Lydia much much more.

Kind of a random question: I use those poly sleeves on my records but on the gatefold/double LP records it is definitely a tighter fit. Does anyone know if this can potentially cause damage to the records?

 

This happens a lot on double records for me. I bought a pack of plastic outer sleeves and started storing the records outside the gatefold jacket itself.

 

I started doing this with my whole collection after a hectic year of moving around a few times. Prevented a lot of jacket tears from happening during transit. It's also my preferred method for shipping records that aren't shrink wrapped.

 

I actually got the idea after someone shipped me some used records that way. Seems much safer all around!

Sad moment for me today. Had to box up my records and I don’t know when the next time will be that I’ll get a chance to listen to them.

 

I got out of collecting for a while in 2016, and my collection slowly dwindled down to about 15 records until the start of this year, and now I have jumped from 15 to about 165. Oops.

 

I did the same thing, I started collecting when I was 15. My girlfriend at the time viewed vinyl as a waste of money so she eventually talked me into selling most of my collection. Started collecting again about a year ago, went from 40 at the start to 308 now.

No regrets.

 

Nice! Any big additions to your collection that you are proud of?

 

Pretty much same except when I was 18 I sold my collection to go on a trip. Started collecting again last year and now I’m at 565

 

Good god, you two are making me feel way better about how much money I have spent. Do you have gems you have added to the collection?

 

Got quite a few but the two most expensive ones are Frank Oceans Blonde and an OG pressing of Alice In Chains tripod
