what if I told all the “I’m not a fan of Taylor” folks digging this album that she’s written songs on every album since speak now that are better than any one song on this one and maybe you should revise your opinion of her

 

"epiphany" is killing me right now. her voice is just so gorgeous in this. like, i'm on the verge of tears. what is happening?

Love a good Taylor Swift release day to remind me which cynical assholes I have to re-mute on Twitter.

 

What an album. Working with Aaron really brought her to an entirely new place that sounds so fitting for her. Quite the change for someone over 10 years into her career and it's damn near perfect.

This and Phoebe are the best get stoned and think about all the existential dread albums of the year.

 

My lady played "Exile" for me this morning and I am blown away. The last minute or so of it is straight up powerful.

 

"Autumn" reminds me of this (incredible) Maria Taylor song. I think it's the vocal effects, but honestly, check this song out.

 

Is this Taylor's MBDTF? You know, the game-changing mid-career masterpiece from a superstar artist working at the height of their powers that blows everyone away and sways all the non-believers into becoming fans?

Taylor went and made the album I always thought she could but wasn't sure she ever would. She put herself in another stratosphere with this, IMO

 

"cardigan" shouldn't have been the single, though i'm not sure what should have been. that's the first negative thought i've had about this album in 4 listens.

 

Maria Taylor is the best. "Speak Easy" (from that album) was my first dance with my wife at our wedding.
