Haven’t even watched the video yet. Can’t stop listening to the record.

 

"August slipped away like a bottle of wine" is such a lovely little lyric about the fleeting nature of summer and summer romance. Feels particularly apt with this not-quite-summer summer we're having.

 

"the last great american dynasty" is so good. Kinda reminds me of something that might have been on Speak Now.

 

"exile"

i listened to this song three times before i went to bed lastnight. i love how it never stops once it starts really going.

but then it eventually ends... :(

 

I know it doesn't apply here, but this reminds me of when people try to show examples of how crucial the Oxford comma is.

 

the bridge on "my tears ricochet" is huge.

 

I’m really struck by her continued growth as a vocalist. She seems so much more confident, in that they’re generally much less processed and scrubbed, which then allows her to put some crazy effects on them to achieve a specific aim like on “Epiphany” when she does that whooping yell. Her albums used to be good in spite of her vocal abilities. Now they’re good, at least in part, because of them.

"mirrorball" is unreal.

 

They literally did not know much longer than the general public.

 

"seven" is so folky. it's beautiful.

obviously.

 

Crazy how the credits for Lover has at least half a dozen names on every song. This album just Taylor and one other songwriter for each song, except for Tears Ricochet which is solely Taylor.

 

My Tears Ricochet and Exile are the standouts to me thus far. And Epiphany.

 

lol just went through a massive break up of a four year relationship i should not have read the lyrics to exile

"august" is so great.

 

this is the first time i'm going to listen to a taylor swift album beginning to end

 

There are a few moments on here that I got Phoebe vibes, which makes sense because Taylor is a fan of hers

The only 2 i don't really like so far are Seven and Peace

 

"this is me trying" is another one of my early favorites. beautiful song.

 

Exile and Illicit Affairs were the only two that really stood out to me.

 

“Last Great American Dynasty” and “Betty” are early favorites but this whole thing is pretty fantastic.
