Gulch LP drops Friday!

Is it just me or the production on the new Gulch super raw? It sounds like an in-studio set or a soundboard recording.

 

I haven't listened yet but I'll be done with work in about 10min and then I'm putting it on

 

Listening now. It does kind of sound "hollow" or something.

Wow the first three domestic variants for the Gulch record sold out in a half hour. That’s at least 1,400 records.

 

I got my friend one as a bday gift and I never listened to them before and now I want to keep the vinyl lol

 

You should probably grab yourself that blue and white variant. Record is really good, even if three of the eight songs have already been released. It’s a good record to play if you have any home demo projects or just enjoy moshing at home.

 

New Gulch is good. Siouxsie and the banshees cover is cool.

 

It’s an Jack Shirley/Atomic Garden album which I think is usually always recorded to tape. I always love how records made there sound.

 

Makes sense then. I love the production, but it was a bit jarring on first listen after the EP and the 2019 Promo so I was just curious. Thanks for the info.

 

It being recorded to tape or not wouldn't really have that much to do with that sound. Its just the way they mic'd, mixed and mastered it.

Its the perfect sound for their music. I love it.

 

Took the Gulch record out for a few spins during my lunch break. Pure insanity. It's hard to decompress coming back into a cubicle farm after that listening experience.
