Why is his apology in quotes? Lol

 

Just saw that Murphy removed all of the capacity restrictions from commuter buses in NJ last week because that makes a lot of sense. My wife is supposed to go into NYC on Wednesday for work -- looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of driving now!

 

Yeah I’m not sure why he did that either, seems like a dumb idea. But is public transit like buses and trains even being used by that many people right now? I imagine many people are still out of work so there is not too much commuting going on anyway, so perhaps they don’t expect that they will reach much higher than 50% capacity very often anyway. That’s just speculation though I could be wrong

 

That was my initial thought, too. However, my wife asked her co-worker who had already gone back into work; she said that Lakeland was reaching capacity at the previous 50% limit on the first of the eleven stops, so they hadn't even been able to make the other stops on the route. So, that makes me a little nervous about the actual demand.

The whole thing is stupid, anyway. My wife makes video reviews for kids' toys. We've already set up a pretty decent studio for her downstairs, so her boss just needs to mail her stuff to review. There's absolutely no reason she needs to go into the city, except her boss is a moron. The same boss who already had COVID back in March, still is struggling with it, and doesn't understand why no one wants to return to the office. But I digress.

I feel so torn, because on one hand I love seeing this crowd show up to try to stop what is going on in Portland, but on the other hand, looking at that many people all packed in together like that knowing what the coronavirus is doing right now makes my skin crawl.....
