kinda over Yooka Laylee. I’m not a fan of the ‘paywall’ snake and having to search for the coins. I just wanna play the levels and puzzles in the overworld.

 

YL sucks and so does the sequel. awful, awful games.

I’m someone that tries for all the collectibles in a 2D platformer so it never really bothered me, I totally get that element being a necessity would make it a deterrent for some but saying Impossible Lair is awful is frankly absurd

 

@sean_rugy you’re going to love Crosscode, I’m only ~12 hours in but it’s easily one of the best things I’ve played in a long time

gonna finish Origami King so I can lend it to a friend and jump back in ASAP

 

yeah I can tell it’s gonna be good.

playing the sequel and wouldn’t say that Impossible Lair is awful. I like the levels and the overworld but I’m just so bad at collecting everything, or almost everything, and you need to do that to move forward. just worked so hard to get to the next paywall level and when I saw that the next one was 25 I just let out the biggest sigh lol. not awful, just not what I want right now.

 

Oh I was referring to whoever called it an “awful, awful game” which seemed weirdly unwarranted. I never got to a paywall I didn’t have enough for but honestly only got 2/3 through the game before getting distracted haha. Your time is better spent with CC regardless

not a redditor but I scan the Switch sub for news and it’s been fun to watch them pivot from saying Origami King is going to be terrible prior to release to how great it is

which is true! just finished the ship and I never want it to end, truly a wonderful game with so much love and attention to detail put into every aspect

I'll never forget my mom taking me to Walmart on a cold November night for the Gamecube launch and using birthday money and funds from sold N64 games to purchase a black Gamecube, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, and Tony Hawk 3.

With that said I'm gonna go with Windwaker and Twilight Princess. Even though I have them both on the Wii U.
